In the logbook page dedicated to techbonuses to military affairs (btw, there is no way to check other tech bonuses nor inventions discovered, theres hould be more tech pages in the logbook), if you point with the mouse any value, the tooltip shows which inventions or other factors make up that value. In vanilla game they showed the invention names, as it should be, but in VV, the whole invention description is shown.

So instead of:

Militia discipline:
Mass Charge -5%

the tooltip now shows:

Militia discipline
The barbarian tribes of the hinterland, blah,blah,blah,blah-for several lines-
blah,blah -5% :D

UPDATE: It seems that it ONLY happens when playing a mod, using the mod directory and the 'Select mod to play' dropdown menu in the launcher. Event texts also seem to be affected by this bug, the title appears in one option, the description in the title and odd things like that.

Taken notice, can You attach the mod so I can have a look - I have an idea of what is going on ...

The usual policy with mods and bug reporting though is a cruel but necessary one: unless one is certain the mod itself is not the source of the issue, bugs related to mods need to be investigated and solved by oneself.

I understand that mod stuff is not Pdox responsaility so I kept looking at the issue to make sure that it was a fault of the moddir function and not of the mod itself. I wasn't able to find any error in my localisation files, and the text worked fine pre-VV, thats why I thought it was a new moddir issue introduced by VV. Although I added some few of lines that I didn't test before VV and the error could be there, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

I've tried a lot of things, including deleting all my text strings, but what IMHO makes sure that it is a moddir issue is that even if I copy the original vanilla VV unmodded localisation files into the mod directory, the bug still appears. ONLY if I leave empty the localisation folder in the mod directory the vanilla text appears where it is supossed to appear. (although of course there are emtpy text srings where my new text should be). :D

There must be a bug...

Thanks for spending your time at looking as this, mate. I wouldn't have bothered you if I didn't think that this is not a problem of my files. :)

Alright, I had a look:

First thing, I switched to "language=l_spanish". The translation looks a bit odd: grammar and charaters.

I couldn't reproduce Your same issue: meaning the tooltips read, as expected: "Armadura: +2,0%", "Equipo Omogeneo: +2.0%", etc. Militia discipline reports expected values and text as well.

The "Sistema Militar" event (1005) displays the right text.

Only then I added the localisation files You provided in the Foro Espanol (rar), to the "Ancient Mod" extended localisation folder: still no issue.

So: the only issue I can think about may lay with Your localisation files. The ones which are not featured in "Texto Rome Espanol.rar".

Make sure the issue shows again, with the "Ancient Mod", Spanish language and the localisation files You provided in the Spanish forum. It the issue repeats itself, pack Your whole localisation folder (it wont be big) and post it in here - I will try and have a look.

You're good, yeah, you're reaaally good!

I hadn't thought that the problem could be in the translated vae victis files, since they worked perfectly fine in vanilla vae victis. But it seems that a couple of blank lines in the bottom of those files screwed things up when loading the mod dir localisation files. The funny thing is that if I put those nasty files in the moddir localisation folder, there was no issue. Only did they screw things up if they were only present in the vanilla folder.

Pffeeew! That was a nasty little one that I would've never found out without your help. Thanks again mate for your time and interest.

And I guess it's CASE SOLVED :D
