I'll probably have v1.0 up, running and available by the end of this weekend.

If anyone apart from the team wants to test it, then post here and I shall consider whether you are suitable or not.

EDIT: state whether you have time at the end of this week or next to do some degree of testing.

I am willing to try. I admit that I'm new, but I'm also sure that I won't be distracted by HoI2 coming (I don't know when it's coming :eek:o ) and also I love playing this mod and as the greatest plus, I'm sure to ask lots of stupid questions ;)

My next two weeks are open. I'll be happy to try the next version of his excellent mod. I'll just have to remember to wright down errors, crashes, and apparent imballances. Stupid Question: why does it say 1.05b in the sticky while this is 1.00? That version was made for the 1.05b patch?

Well, I am a member of the team, but I´d like to test it/get it before the rest of the crowd.

I think I have some time on the weekends, but in mid-week I can´t.

The strange version numbers of TGW: a long while ago, after a vote, it was decided that 0.x would look like the mod was in a state of permanent beta. So, it works as follows: first beta version was 1.00b, 1.01b was the 2nd beta, etc. When the mod reaches a finalised version, numbering starts over from 1.00, but without the b. So, TGW is reaching "completed" status. Which doesn't mean work will stop on it, though.

I'll give it a try...If you deem me worthy that is :)

You are undoubtedly worthy. :) The 'worthiness' clause was not a bout of racial profiling involving the measuring of noses and foreheads - rather, insurance against having to give privelege to a certain annoying person who I shan't name.

How about calling it TGW 2.0? Or would people assume that that was the version of the mod for HoI2?

TGW CS? TGW XP? :D
We could number it 1.1, instead of 1.0. BTW, who is taking the chance of the HOI2 demo to start working on HOI2 : TGW? :) I'm already taking a look at possible interface alternatives. :D

Nice to see TGW going into official "final" release. BTW, hi guys. First time I visit the paradox forums in way to many months... Sorry for leaving everything without saying goodbye. There are no excuses except I haven't had time to anything else either. Don't know if I'll make one more come-back. Maybe if we... I mean you... start working on TGW for HoI 2 some time. Again, nice to see how the mod has evolved. Will try it some day now when School's off.

Hey Johan I wondered what happened to you. Glad to see you back, hopefully Allenby will have it ready to go soon.

And I do not doubt there will be a version for HOI 2 also. I think the map and the improvements in HOI 2 will only make TGW mod even better.

Hello Johan :) You can probably be of greater immediate help than you might think, actually.... I've moved the website's location, but the hoi-tgw domain name still refers to the front page of the old location.

If you could change the referer URL for www.hoi-tgw.tk to http://hoi.coremod.org/downloads/tgw/index.shtml, then that would be of great use. :)

Fixed! It might take a few hours before being redirected correctly though. Don't know if it is because of cookies or because the .tk crew is lazy. ;)

I'll check in a few times per week to see how it's going. I won't say that I'd love to help because trying to comeback the last time was a fiasco by me. If you want anything, send me a PM, that way I can't miss it.

Will gladly join in when/if you start working on TGW 2 though. I'd like to have my OOB's back! :D

Hello, Johan.

I agree with Shadow Knight, HOI2 does seem like it will make TGW much better. The new combat system feels like it can produce the western front battles much better than the HOI system. A quick look at the files gives the impression of the game being much more moddable, too.

The TGW interface will have to be remade, though. The HOI2 interface has a very light colour, and most of the text is dark, which doesn't go well with Allenby's design.

Tremendous news, folks! I've finally managed to gather together all the files for 1.0, and I have deposited a download by Private Message, which should presently be in your inbox. I hope that this makes for some quite gascibating gameplay! Gwalcmai will have every last sprite complete soon, and I may even be able to get an installer arranged too.
