Title says it all. I've been wondering how the culture of my king kept changing generation to generation.

My last king was German with a German wife. Both sons were born as German, however both sons were tutored by a Croatian princess in my court. To my shock when the heir came into the throne, he was Croatian.

Hopefully this can get fixed!

It's working as designed (though the chance for it happening is a balancing question) and it's a good thing. Do you not expect the cultural leanings of the person you hand-picked to take care of your 6 year old kid until they're an "adult" (by the standards of the time) to have an impact on their view of the world? If you sent your kid off to be tutored by a Byzantine they'll get used to things from Greek culture and might think they're better than yours etc. in the same manner as they might be convinced of the values of Orthodoxy over Catholicism.

Also when you pick a Guardian you should see what Religion/Culture they have. :)
