Efficiency

In 1103 my son inherits my Kingdom, he has a tax efficiency of -45%, I thought it only came in -40% or -50% for large demense, is there some sort of a change in the 1100s?

He probably has -44% tax efficiency in a province where you have both a Grand Palace (1.3) and a Royal Post (1.2) as 1-(0.7*0.8)=0.44

That's an assumption, an incorrect one, but an assumption never the less. No, my efficiency is not at -44% it is at -45% and there are no palaces anywhere in 1103, at least not in Poland.

Ok, so bad assumption. In that case is it 45% in general (i.e. listed as your efficiency in the shield menu) or is it in a specific province (i.e. listed as large demesne penalty in a province), and, if so, which if any buildings have you built in it?

That's the thing, it is not "a province" large demense penalty, it is "a nation wide" large demense penalty. It is weird, because the penalty usually goes up or down 10%, so if it goes up or down by 5% it seems strange and I am just wondering what causes it.
