I have 10 USD on steam. Thisis enough to buy Sengoku. However, since I am poor, i have to be extremely frugal. I don't want to spend 10 on one game when sales can get me four games for the same amount. I want to know if this game will be going on sale anytime in the near future. I also want to know what the mods are. It is really frustrating me that I cannot access the mod forum without registering. I specifically am interested in this game for the same reason I am for most paradox games. That is, for mods. I want to see what the mods are before I buy this game.

I need to know what all the mods are and what they do. I can't find that out without being able to read the forums. I made the mistake of buying Victoria II assuming there would be a lot of mods I would love. It was a waste of money that I still regret spending.

Well, I can tell you names of mods, but it is difficult to say whether you like them or not, even though you aren't sartisfied with good VIC2 Mods.

Thanks. if it isn't too much trouble, just tell me the names (dont worry about small mods which add coutiers or traits) and very briefly what they do. such as, X mod adds x, or turns it into Ancient Rome, or whatever. I am really interested in mods that add Christian factions, Mongols, the invasion of Korea, China and adding 200-1100 AD.

There is no Mongol/Christian/China mods (some people wanted/tried them, but no success). This game is too suitable only for Japanese culture to represent other regions. :) Korean invasion is also beyond the scape of this game.

R00K's Portrait Mod: alters the vanilla portraits
JaceX's Divided Clans - Realism: divides the big ones in vanilla and makes them more challengiable
KAWADD's Samurai map mod: divides the vanilla provinces more tiny and add more characters
Yamana Tokiuji's adds past characters MOD: add ancestors of each clans
KAWADD's No_eye_face_mod: replaces the vanilla portraits with historical ones
MrX5249's SengokuDangoMOD: replaces the vanilla portraits with anime characters
Sakura's and mine Sengoku 1551: adds new scenario with a revised map, partially included as a official patch into the game

I might forget to mention some mods, and I guess these aren't too many.
... and my MIH mod, of course ;) (You can check the contents from the above link, since that thread stays in the main forum).

Thanks. What about the things I am interested above? Anything like that at all? I think I will buy this game now, but only if it goes on sale.... soon I hope.

In my opinion, invasions of Mongols or Chinese aren't plausible. Mongols were far away from Japan, and China didn't own an effective fleet. As for Korean campaign, we need several map designers and researchers... That's why I tried rather expand this game periodical, not geographical.

Adding territory isn't very simple then? I am very very busy at the university right now. But I would be happy to provide you with research. The Uni has over 2 million volumes along with an unnumbered amount of articles from online databases, scholarly journals and so forth. I can also scan entire books if necessary. I've done that with several very hard to find histories.

Adding territory isn't easy, at least for me. :) It requires several files including terrain and other geographical pictures. As far as I know, no one succeeded to change the Sengoku map drastically. Some people have done by CK2, but I doubt we can simply implement these maps into Sengoku.

if I might ask, are there any mods that change game balance ala Ck2plus, Balansegang, Prince and Thane, etc? and maybe some that add more flavour events?
ie. aside from the changes you've done so far of course. I still remember my last campaign trying to unite Kyushu and losing interest simply because sieges took too damn long (at least CK2 got the balance right, if a bit too fast).

Every mod except graphical works changes "balance", and we don't need completely different interpretations about balance in Sengoku, since this game isn't complicated. IMO all we need with mods are simply more events and characters (or maybe more provinces) without losing the final goal "world conquest". Otherwise we can share ideas easily.

On the other hand, gathering events and characters are difficult enough. There aren't many English sites about Sengoku characters in comparison to CK2, and casual games such as Sengoku Basara/Musou don't tell much about historical events which Japanese fans about this era should know (f.e. here is a site about good/bad episodes of Sengoku).

By the way, the tempo of siege is easily to mod in the lua file (MIH change it already, and some other mods did too).

I doupt it... I mean... I mod EU3 maps and the CK2 map... Also the HoI2 map and Vicky2 map... I have try it to mod the Sengoku map... But it's not easy... I hadn't success with the adding of a greater map. Okay... It was before CK2... Eventually I should try it again, but I doupt it...

I really love Sengoku, I played it hours and hours, and I have to let you know, that you can play greatly without mods, I mean, there are loads of things to do in there, the map is pretty big, the diplomacy is awesome, ninjas are so cool to use, and the complots are sooo funny.
I'ts 9.99$ on Steam, and that's a great price, so go for it! :)
