All I desire is being able to mod the stuff added by DLC's.

And there I just want to screw around with stuff like rarity, being sold in stores etc. No touchy touchy the effects, texture, mesh or anything just the json files.

Had somebody else the same desire and is there already a mod I can download for this purpose?

Again, I do not want something adds an addtional set of weapons, just something to replaces the originals with something I can mod, if I so desire.

Oh, I own the DLC. I just want the ability to mod the equipment and weapons added by the DLC in the same manner I can mod those of the basegame.
If the DLC’s could be... what would it be... the cellphone equivalent of Jailbroke, then the value of the DLC would decline as that content spread far and wide.

Hey, I like that HBS can keep the lights on, making monthly payroll and working toward a gaming future. I don’t begrudge them their DLC process.

Indeed, in the absence of Kickstarters, I only wish there were more DLCs that I could throw money at them for.

Who says you can't?

HBS has made all the DLC code available for modders in Github: https://github.com/caardappel-hbs/bt-dlc-designdata

I've been modding the DLC for quite a while now. It does need a few 'tricks' for it to work if you're using ModTek but otherwise it's completely possible.

I do not care if the art, effects and models that come with DLC are locked behind a "Has this user paid for the DLC" check but I also do not see how this check should have any any bearing on me setting the slot size of for an LBX20 to 1, tonnage to zero and creating the Flea from Hell.

I went for for the season pass. I'll go for the next season pass, if there is one. But I want to edit the DLC assets in the same manner I can the basegame ones, without bothering with modtek, because all I want is change some numbers not create something new from scratch.

Also, seeing as we're on the Paradox forum, I'm not thinking your jailbroken anaology holds much water, certainly doesn't seem to work out like that for CK, HoI, Stellaris or EU.

If I just wanted more everything I'd just go back to 1.7.1 and download RogueTech. But I want to be able to edit stats on the DLC weapons and equipment in particular.

Could you share those tricks? A while back I modded all the weapons to add a medium range bracket, and I’d like to do the same for the new weapons, but nothing I’ve tried seems to change them.

As far as I can tell, the DLC content is not currently moddable with the built-in modloader, only with ModTek. I've gotten the impression that qualifies as a bug and is not intended as part of the copy protection (based on bits and pieces I heard during the 1.8 pre-release period).
