It's really strange, just a few years into the Feast for Crows setting Tommen won a war for the dawn which resulted in the Others never getting past the Wall and being seemingly destroyed.

However it was maybe another five years, maybe year 8312 or something like that when I noticed a large chunk of coastal Yi Ti was owned by Winter and they just seem to sit around, never expanding or losing ground, I assumed this might be a bug so I switched characters around a bit to see what was going on. No one seems to have a CB to continue the conflict and the War for the Dawn was already won and has since disappeared as a CB as well, is it possible this can only be used once?

It might be important to note I have only a few of the updated blackninja submods and aside from this issue 1.0 has been working really great so far.

Wow that's really odd. I do believe its a one and done sort of thing though.

Unfortunately after I did the war of dawn in one of my current games winter has not ended still, and I'm in the 10th year of a harsh winter :|
It's making building and warfare a bit tough.

Does anyone know what console commands or anything else I could use to remove Essos "Winter" faction? It's been 40 years ingame and they still just sit there with most of the YiTi coast. I was looking through the events and mod files hoping to find one that would return the land or explain the lack of CB, but they only seemed to function for Westeros and Beyond the Wall.

Is Essos literally just screwed when they somehow lose land after the Five Forts event? Only the 6 or so provinces actually owned by this faction even seem to be suffering from the usual Others winter attrition, and everywhere else in the world has good weather.

Could I possibly just give the titles to someone through the console, bypassing this entirely?

I poured through the different threads on the forum and noticed quite a few with the same issue of being unable to attack the Winter faction, but none of them seemed to have suggestions either. I would be willing to upload a save or screenshots, but I'm not sure how to do that with the forum.

I really want to find a way to solve this, as it was a bit painstaking to get my save in the positive state it currently is and I worry that starting a new game might just crop up with the same problems.

Maybe you could try to switch to owner of Thenn and use console to launch WW invasion again. It´s just guess, but maybe game thinks WW aren´t there (they were destroyed in war), so you should once again launch it to enable that CB.
If it works, just switch to WW, surrender in war for Thenn, disband your army in Westeros and just let people in Essos take care of WW by themselves.

Thanks for the response Dorlas, I'll give that a try, hopefully it provides a fix, first I'll have to adjust the Cold Gods to be playable then? Any idea if tampering with those files will cause any corruption or more problems? I'll back it up either way, but it would be really nice to hear from one of the devs regarding this.

I still don't even know for sure if it's a bug, for all I know it could have been intentional that Essos winter is untouchable, there just isn't any real information I can find regarding it.

You can play as WW, at least by using console. I did it few times and I never had any problem (and since they are landed in the east, it won´t end the game).
And it must be a bug, Winter in the east should behave the same way as in the west.

Well, cheers for the tip Dorlas, I switched to the eastern Winter blob and noticed not even they had CB to fight against the living or invade, so it's in a bit of a messy state it would seem. I was able to return provinces to their owner by running event cold_winds.7 numerous times in a row, each time seemed to return only one adjacent province whilst removing the wasteland malus.

Either way, through a lot of buggering with the console and with your help, my save is at least salvageable, which was what I needed. Hopefully in future builds this problem won't be so prevalent, I personally think it might be related to the fact that their are two unlanded (at start) duchy-styled Winter Factions.
