War score keeps going down despite controlling the objective

Description​

I engaged in a late-game de-jure war for 6 duchies. It took about 2 years in-game time to capture them as they were scattered around the Byzantine Empire. After I managed to capture all of the war objectives the score kept going down at an accelerating phase. I was forced to white peace before the score diminished too much.
