"Fantastic offers" that have been the same for the last 10 sales or so. Has Paradox stopped with increasing the discounts for older DLC or something?

For any players looking to get these DLC - don't. The game is filled with years-old bugs and abandoned countries. Purchase the game after these things are fixed, not before.

I hope in the near future, they add this Focus Tree for Paradox (and yes, this is the second time I've posted it):

Yeah, they have now policy that DLC cannot get more than 50% discount, even the oldest one
Thanks, I must have missed that anouncement. I guess I'll wait for No Step Back to drop a little more then. I mean, Bosporus was -60% last year, it just doesn't make any sense (in my head) to buy it for a higher price now.

It's been like this for years. I remember when they were 75%.

Wester and his buddies own 1/3 of the stocks, and are biggest shareholders, thus they profit the most.

Well, the rest of them are still eligible for elimination. Since all they care about is money and force Paradox to make suboptimal decisions, which hurt PDX's reputation and make players furious, nothing of value would be lost.

Cough up enough money of your own or mortgage your assets for a bank loan and eliminate them by buy-out ;)
How about a cheaper option: refuse to buy products and wait until they move on to ruin another company and its consumer base while allowing PDX products' quality to improve due to reduced stockholder meddling? :p
Lead by example, go to your employer, say you don't care about money any more so you will work for free from now on ;)
There's a difference between squeezing a company dry just to get more money and caring enough to allow the company once in a while to do what is right to ensure long-term profits instead of concentrating on short-term gains. Like the endless lists of old and new bugs in PDX titles? Thank the stockholders for making PDX release games/DLCs without proper QA. :p

I wouldnt just find shareholders responsible for everything thats happening in the company, because right now we use this term like if they were some boogeyman. This is responsibility of CEO, Board of directors, and to some extent developers, and customers, who would buy, and defend every product regardless of its quality.

Agreed. Bad decisions can be initiated at any higher rung of the hierarchy. I'm just saying that the aforementioned shareholders have the potential to make the worst ones due to the power of their voice. This combined with their lack of familiarity with PDX products may result in a catastrophe.

Well yeah, they can, but it is not like Brandon from BNP makes a call to Johann and tell him "oi mate, more DLCs please". PDX continues economic model they developed years ago, even before they went public. We have bugs that have been in this game since forever, this is also true for other games (EU IV and restarting the game everytime you go back to menu). This is something more deeply ingrained in how the PDX works than just shareholders and they greed.

once in a blue moon i check if CK 2 has some dlcs reduced or a gold/complete edition sale for a reasonably low price. Nope Just corpo greed. PDX DLC made my moral questioning of the high seas go away. thx pdx. not a sailor thou dont care enough anymore about pdx games.

I still remember how, as the owner of Hoi III, I received CK II as a gift for Paradox's birthday. I had heard about the game and how complicated it was, but I played it anyway. I was so excited about the depth of the game and the fact that they even included my grandparents' birthplace (a small town in Western Pomerania) that I bought every DLC for it. If I remember correctly, Old Gods wasn't even available as DLC back then. So they made a good profit from me. Which was fine for CK II.

Are there still free things when Paradox is celebrating?

Same here for Cities Skylines, that's one of the reasons I asked. For a game that isn't being developed anymore, I was expecting some bigger discounts. The last sales you actually got smaller discounts then before.

With Hoi4 it also felt like it's the same discounts over and over, while (imho) the quality of the DLC has been going down. No Step Back is on my wishlist, but it's at -30% for the 10th sale in a row, while the sale before that had it at -40%. Maybe I'm overcomplicating things, but buying it at 30% doesn't seem like a good deal to me now.

Checked a few others while I was at it (thanks SteamDB!), La Resistance is not for the nations I usualy play, it's at -50% for years now, put that at -60% and I'd probably buy it. By Blood Alone is on its 17th consecutive sale (since september 2023) at -30%, so I also don't see why it is a bargain now.

I don't want to sound overly negative here, but as one of the people who bought Waking the Tiger and Death or Dishonor shortly before they were made free, I don't want to throw my money at Paradox like I once did.
