B-b-b-b-but Stellaris stops pre-game diplo and pre-arranged hugboxes by making the map random every time!

If I thought the singleplayer of Stellaris was bad, the multiplayer, in contrast to any multiplayer game ever excluding tropico 5, is shit.

It's not shit at all. It's actually pretty great. Only the people who either do not understand the game or suck at it seem to be shitting at it so far *cough* Czone *cough*

These games are not meant to last for months like the more robust EU4 campaigns anyway. Treat it as a tad longer Civ 5 MP in terms of duration. If I were you people I'd have two sessions per week with each lasting 5 hours with enough time left between the two sessions to allow for -some- diplomacy.

Even a Friday Morning + Saturday Evening bi-sessional campaign would do. Ideally a Friday Evening + Sunday Afternoon/Evening one.

Ulec, I understand the Turkish economy is kind of crap and there are no jobs for you, but that doesn't mean that everyone else has your amount of free time. Nobody in their right minds would dedicate 1/4 of their weekends to one campaign.

Me, I like the long length and drama of an EU4 campaign. It's a waste of time to organize a Stellaris campaign if it only lasts two weeks.

I think everyone is dissapointed; It's stellaris.

To make everyone feel better, Jar Jar Binks died day 1 too.

Wait what I understand that I died D1 because I was alone and boxed into a small universal enclave unable to expand anywhere [And my systems were tasty] but I'm a little surprised your alliance lost 3v1. I've never had that problem with Hyperlanes where you are boxed in like that.

Although I will admit I'm surprised that Star managed to get 5 planets and multiple spaceports that fast AND a fleet that large that fast. His designs were at least 90 per ship and he had 35+ when he declared; spaceports are ~350 and colony ships vary somewhat but are usually ~350 as well. Then you throw in his mining stations and whatever buildings he made on his planets.

Also today I learnt that even if it is unarmored lasers vs Sheilded Railguns; you can't win 2v1. If I'd managed to pool the minerals to get Spaceport 3 before the DoW I might have stood a chance with my Destroyers.

The Old Republic mustered up two fleets of 4k and 3.2k.

If well coordinated and cooping, you could even have one focus solely on energy and the other on minerals with respective builds and trade all those
There's a risk/reward here. Yes you'll be more efficient, but they can shut down your supply of either more easily, which can make comebacks in a war harder.

1. I quit SL because I'm writing a thesis and am too busy, not because the game was too hard or anything.
I mean, I do suck at the game considering I've only played it for 34 hours, but any comments I have made are not based on things that need a deep understanding of the game.
2. Many people who have played the game a lot more than I and are, most likely, much better at the game than you (considering the skill disparity in EU4, though I could be wrong) have complained about the multiplayer of Stellaris.
3. I haven't really shit at it at all? Could you show me the forum posts where I complained about Stellaris multiplayer please, because I don't remember complaining about the game much and I definitely didn't do it in private, because you know, you got yourself removed from my steam and all that ^^[/QUOTE]

I think EUIV might soldier on a bit longer. Stellris is fun for 5 minutes sort of thing and the MP thing sucks. RNG screwed me in my 1st game (really shit start), and not doing to bad in this campaign but yeah its not great.

Beats me what Bug was doing. He blocked me from the only size 20+ planet I could settle and spammed crap all over the map.

Honestly, I don't think that this game would last 3 more sessions. People would get bored / eliminated.
I do agree that EU campaigns were longer, saltier and more exciting than Stellaris mp.

The Star Kingdom of Britannia also died. Loving being positioned in the top-right corner flanked by a larger player and a fallen empire with almost no exploitable resources around me!

Yea our respective positions were terrible. I had another fallen empire on my direct west border too! Also warp tech was a game changer given the huge empty space between jarjar and myself and your proxy colony(s)..

To be honest it was kind of our fault for not killing each other.
