My fellow drones, today is the day we retake our place amongst the Galaxy. We have been brought from utter extinction from an unknown species, but due to their efforts we have been reborn. Our past was robbed from us, taken and broken. We were decimated and forced into servitude, forced to suffer a hell unlike any other. But all due to our creators, our life givers, we are given a chance. Our recent scientist drones have recently uncovered a cache of blueprints for a interstellar travel left behind from our predecessor. A parting gift for us when we were ready as you may say. It includes basic plans for a construction ship, science ship, starbases, and corvettes with hyperlane travel capabilities. Now we shoot for the stars to begin anew. We are One, we are all, we are the Baol Hive.

A hive mind AAR? That sounds interesting.

By the way, are these robots? How are they related to their ostensible creators? Did the creators die out completely before they achieved sapience? If not, what was the relationship between the two groups? What are your ethics?

Day 1 - Signals and Expansion

    • It is day 1 of our galactic reintroduction, we have received a signal from a nearby satellite left behind by our predecessors. It's sending a encrypted message to our civilization which our science drones are currently attempting to decipher. Our science ships have also detected Anomalies on nearby planets which we have made more science vessels to scan the anomalies in which our original science ship, the BSV Oculus, can continue it's journey to scan for expansion. Our construction vessels have built a total of 8 minor starbases in our region of space to expand our empire. Our hive grows and food is abundant, the tree on our planet has taken care of us and with an abundant of animals in the planet making a nutritional plentitude of fertilizer our tree can grow much larger and it's influence spreads through the solar system. But in order to expand its influence we'll gather the seeds of the tree for colonial ships to ensure our species has increased production and efficiency. Other than the Trees abundance of food and a discovery of a satellite, we have detected minor signs of biological life on other planets. The planet Hindus 3 is a Continental Planet with plant life and has high populations of plankton, algae, and bacteria. No major signs of life are detected but it may be possible that in the future multicellular organisms will occur in the next millennium. Or just maybe with a nudge, we can use a species of bacteria to create multicellular life. We have the technology and if we can use the ancient cloning vats on our planet we can create a new species, to give life to the planet. A secondary species that can grow with us, they may be a part of our hive or they may be independent only time will tell but one things for certain we will raise them to their full glory. Amongst the hive, we thought of what to do if we do meet a advanced empire, we decided to be cautious as the past mustn't repeat itself and no other empire should suffer the fate that we have. This concludes todays entry, this will be a archive of information for if we cease to exist that any species that finds this entry may not repeat our mistakes. But if we survive we hope the stars are welcoming.

    They seem to be discussing playing God and creating new life - I'd be worried about the reactions of the creations if I was in their position...
     
    Day 30 - Cracked Satellite

    • It is day 30 of our expansion we currently have control over 7 star bases in neighboring systems, 30 are currently pending construction. Our science vessels have found multiple anomalies and these have furthered our research into better technologies. Our scientist drones have managed to unlock technologies that can further increase our resource output, allowing us to bring out more ships for our protection. The battleship fleet, The SDA Harmonious, has been completed and are currently patrolling our territory to ensure our safety. The Corvette fleet, The IGS Prerogative, are on standby in case of a hostile alien presence is detected. Back on our homeworld we have currently decrypted a major portion of the satellites archives and have discovered a message left behind by our predecessors. The message is as follows; "Dear Baol Hive, if you receive this message that means you have finally reached the stars. We are a species not native to this galaxy and our galaxy is not too far from this one. Our galaxy, the Andromeda Galaxy is 3 million light years away from your galaxy. You galaxy is a minor cluster of stars and black holes, with nebulas and pulsars of all kinds. You galaxy is slowly approaching the milky way galaxy which is the birthplace of the Human Species. We have been in contact with them to let them have awareness of your existence and when you reach them they will be ready to offer any guidance and resources as needed. This satellite contains blueprints for advanced weapons and ships, including buildings, habitats, and megastructures. But it's up to you to see how you will weild them. In order to access the full capabilities of this satellite you must dig deeper. Farewell Baol, may the gods smile upon you, your friends The Shroudbreakers." Our scientist drones are currently digging deeper into the satellite for what our creators called it's full capabilities. We have access to a ships that uses dark matter and rare resources to be built, and are suspected to be very powerful along with advanced cloning bays, power plants, alloy plants, and Dark matter components. Time will tell what we may do with these but we will do our best to make our creators proud.

    • It's been a while since we've seen a Hive Mind AAR, and I think this is the first AAR to focus directly on the Baol in a long time. Neat!

    Also, are you the same "Maple Tree Gaming" who just did a Baol Empire livestream on YouTube a couple of weeks back?
     
    Does the AAR take place in the Milky Way or this dwarf galaxy? It's an interesting bit of lore either way.

    • We the hive, have begun construction of a grandiose fleet with the blueprints given to us by our benefactors. The buildings they've given us seem to create recourses from the shroud. A unknown dimension of sorts, it's interesting to note that we can access the shroud if we use the telepathic ability we currently have. But our telepathy is weak, it's too weak to even make a dent however we may be able to harness Psionic abilities but it will take time to discover how. We currently have control over 20 planets and our colonies are rapidly growing. And we've come across a few primitive civilizations, whom we are currently enlightening to bring them to the stars as our children. We also have picked up a transmission from a nearby civilization. They are sending an invitation to a Galactic Community, and we will gladly accept it. Making allies in this galaxy will be the smartest move we can make.

    We've also analyzed more information on the satellite and we have received a warning. In 300 years, a galactic crisis will arrive, a grave threat to all life. A species called the Prethoryn Scourge is heading our way and they have powerful fleets and can destroy a galaxy in months. We will prepare our galaxy for war, we will also alert the galactic community of the incoming doom. But they're not the only threat inbound, using this satellite we managed to see outside the Galaxy and we can see another species behind the Scourge. They have ships we've never seen before, and they are chasing the scourge. They're a couple hundreds years behind so that means in 300 years the scourge will arrive, and in 500 years this unknown species will arrive. We hope we are able to prepare for the worst, but to this day we are Defenders of the Galaxy.

    • We have finally finished unlocking the secrets of the satellite the final gift to us is this satellite is capable of revealing the entire galaxy to us. We have detected 1 fallen empire and 2 advanced civilizations whom we've already have open communications. One empire being a pacifist empire and the other Mega Corp. The Duvi Colonies, is the mega corporation, a lithoid species capable of consuming minerals in asteroids for food and are currently building a matter decompresser for unlimited food. We have open and friendly relations with this empire and are constantly trading them for alloys and food, they were smart to build a farm world to sell organic food for energy. The second empire, The Harmonious Predition, are fanatic pacifists and dislike the idea of war but will defend themselves if necessary. We have also made ourselves friendly with this empire and we have begun making better relationships with them. In 2 years we should have excellent relations with these empires and already they have accepted us as galactic defenders and are offering up ships at a high caliber to patrol the Galaxy and protect us. The fallen empire, whom are which are ancient observers, are a machine empire and are very powerful and they've even offered assistance. They don't pay us civilizations any mind but they don't want us to be destroyed and are offering our civilizations sanctuary on their newly constructed Ring world each segment is for one of each species and will be protected heavily by a Solar shield.
    The satellite also works as a powerful form of communication and now we are able to contact the humans in the Milky Way. We will not contact them yet but soon we will open communications and pursue friendly relations. On a final note the satellite has tracks on the crisis with high accuracy, we are keeping a close eye on them and for the mysterious species, their power is immense. They've weilded ships beyond anything we've seen, they've turned planets, moons, suns, and solar systems into ships of immense power. Following close is an armada of ships and our senors detect they have up to billions of ships and what's worse is they've got a sphere behind them a mysterious planet we've designated a Birch world. They've also obtained a weapon that can use a pulsar to fire but it's in segments, we suspect if they arrive they will begin construction. May the shroud have mercy on us should they be hostile.

    • It has been 23 years since we left our home and we've turned all our colonized planets into hive worlds. This prevents anyone from laying claim to our systems and our hive works as a single organism. The planet is the body, the drones are the cells, resources are the backbone, and hunter drones are the immune system. Anything that doesn't belong to the Baol Hive gets subsumed and converted into our own. They retain their own appearance however they will obey they hive as if they were one of our workers. As an upside 7 planets have been deemed perfect for biological life and after intensive testing we've made life on all these worlds. One species has already made it to the space stage whilst the others are still animals, very peculiar. Relations with other empires has surpassed expectations and we are all working together to build 5 giga structures on the outskirts to our galaxy. Powerful weapons capable of destroying the scourge before they arrive at best, at worst it weakens our enemy entirely making a small corvette fleet perfect to go against the aggressors. It will take approximately 100 years to build, a momumentous task to say the least but a task nonetheless. The satellite we have been given has a new purpose and today we begin communications with the Humans in the milky way galaxy. We can also communicate with the Shroudbreakers and begin learning of ourselves and our creators. As a hive queen I must say that for all of us, this is exciting. The hive shivers in anticipation, we must learn what we can and maybe even ask for help in the coming storm.

    • We have been hailed by our benefactors. They are giving us a warning. "Our beloved Baol Hive, we are the Shroudbreakers. We have come to give you a warning of an incoming attack from a band of rogue pirates. They have latent psionic abilities and aren't to be trifled with as they weild some of our ships. They also have hostages so we beg of you, if possible intercept them whilst they make their way through your galaxy. They plan to make a jump nearby the Duvi Colonies, we have marked the location of their jump point. The blueprints we've just sent should be of a defense platform capable of tethering your targets and immobilizing them. It will shut down their weapon systems on the outside and keep them still long enough for multiple boarding parties to jump in and gather the hostages and bring them to safety. These hostages are your top priority, if you must destroy the ships but we beg you save the hostages. These hostages are children, they are scared and alone and it pains us. The pirates threaten to torture them if they are pursued by us. However they deem your species weak and puny, so they won't take a threat from you seriously. So use the defense platform, immobilize their fleet, board them, and save the children. Be wary of their abilities they are powerful and may sever the link of the boarders to you if they wish however we planned for this. Your mind is strong so once you board you'll have 30 minutes before they can sever the connection. We aren't without our contingency plans and we see that out plans are coming in useful. Farewell and may the shroud guide you in your path".
    That message was unexpected but we must help them no matter what. Let's hope we can save them
