i think that more dynasties have to be put in the game for example :For the Byzantine Empire dynasties that in history exist ( ;) not at the same time ) are more than 7 ( i thin that is 12 and the smolest have 4 members ? ) if a player like to play with a Byzantine dynastie he will choose from the Byzantine dynasties :
dynastie Paleologe
dynastie Angels
dynastie Katakoninos
There more......dynasties ( i think 9 more with the smolest having 4-( 5? ) emperors )

Well, the game is not 100% historical, because it deals with phenomena and trends, rather than people and events... Post-dynasties aren't as important as you might think for CK

Ah, that's easy just imagine (CK provides you a wide range of moves) - you play for Isaac Komnenos and instead of abdiction you remain on the throne and marry for example some girl of Dukas but Isaac has no sons - he dies and voila you play for Dukas;)

As a human player I imagine that once you are the BYZ emperor the rest of the game should be a stretch, with all the Empires resources and such...interesting to see how this is solved in the game...
More dynasties and the risk of losing the throne, and to regain it, as BYZ would be exciting...

Yes, I think playing the BZY emperor will be fun. I think that may be the first "nation" I will play...

It will be the first nasion that i will play
and dont forget that as an emperor of byzantioum you do not have papal penaltys as the holy byzantine empire whas orthodox

Some Dynasty names...

Fokades...
Tzimiskides...
Maniakides (Let's assume that Maniakis made it to Konstantinoupolis and toppled the Basileus of the time)

Dynatoi...
Makedones...
Megalokomnenoi or Komnenoi

Those are out of the top of my head.

toppled the Basileus "the boulgaroctonus"(obulgaroctonus is hes nikname in byzantine history for killing meny bulgarous solders at battle and for hes victory over boulgarary) i dont tink so as basileus was a great general with strong army and strong economy.
i like the hitorical dynastys of Angelous , komninous , paleologous ,
And as greece tradisional songs say Konstantinos founded constantinoupolis Konstantinos paleologos lost it and Konstandinos will wiin/bring it back to greece from wich the all the royal byzantyns dynastois has there root in peloponisos

Tzimisce and Maniakes are not really possible as dynasties. But Paleoglous, Commenus, and that other Kantasomething one is.

When I said Basileus, I mean Basilias, as in King. That, in turn, means that it is not referrin to Basilios b' Boulgaroktonos.

What Maniakis did was conquer Sicily for an Emperor

(The Byzantines were naturally desirous of reconquering the island of Sicily, but the emperors of the West coveted it. Otho II had been negotiating with Venice about seizing it; Henry II, in the Treaty of Bamberg (1020), promised it to the popes. But it was the Normans who obtained it. Discord broke out in the Kebbidi family, and anarchy resulted: every alcalde and petty captain aspired to independence. Encouraged by these conditions, the Emperor Michael IV sent the catapan Leo Opus (1037) with a fleet, which, after varying fortunes, was forced to retire.

In the following year he sent George Maniakis with an army which contained some Normans who had chanced to be at Calabria. Messina and Syracuse were taken, and the Arabs badly defeated near Troina. But Maniakis offended the Normans; they returned to the peninsula, and then began their conquests there. The victories of Maniakis continued until 1040, but their fruits were lost when he was recalled.)

When recalled to Konstantinoupolis in 1040, he learned that he would be Killed on arrival. So, he rebelled and formed an army to claim the throne. It was that or he would be killed. In the ensuing battle, he won, but died fighting.

With him, died the chance that Byzantium would survive till now. Yes, he was that good. No, we will never know HOW good he was.

History's unexpected turns. As for taking back Polis, Kokkini milia, and all that, I think we had the best chance for 1000 years in 1919 till 1922 and we blew it to hell, through our own doing. (Civil war between Benizelos and Konstantinos). Let's leave it at that and get on with today. For any other wish, there is still

Europa Universalis 2. I highly recommend it.

I wonder if it is gonna possible to play for Melissinos, Mancaphas, Dalassenos, and other minor Greek dynasties

From what I've heard, there will be only one Greek dynasty that is playable, which is a HUGE shame. There should be at least 3-4. For Trabzon, Nicae and the Despotes of Morea.

Not in the 1066 scenario, they shouldn't be playable.

They should only be available in the 1300's scenario....

Of course those are almost all from before the time period of the game.... ;)

Well sorry about my mistake about the basileus as i whos think that you were telling that about emperor basilis the 2nd

about the last part well if turkay continiou to send air forses and navy in greece and did not give back cyprous well we maby fosed to go to war with turkay and get back the lost holy capitol of costandinoupolis and all the land(the stone emperore is there xaxaxa).!

and about konstandinos and venizelos well venigelos was the best politician untill now if you dont count karamalis but he had lost his mind the last years of hes life a nasional tragogy for greece if only if had let king konstantino (the 2nd whas he not ?)
do as he think best we will had a stable costitiousional monarcy at the time and benizelos dream will be real as greece will had most of her lands and not a nasional tragety at hand

Isn't this getting a little OT for a game set in the 11th century? ;)
