hey guys

me and a couple of friends bought the game to play multiplayer. im the host, ive got adsl but its in modem mode, not router mode, so people can connect to me just as if it was say, dialup.

anyway every time we play weird stuff happens. i can play fine as the host, but units for my friends wont follow orders. they will tell divisions to move, or ships to get out of dock, and they just sit there and do nothing. also just then, the chat messed up, i could see what my friends were typing, but they couldnt see what i was typing (i was using all chat).

at first we were usin 1.3a, we thought it just mite be the patch screwed up so reverted back to original version (1.1 i believe). but it still does this.

my friends are gettin relaly frustrated, im sending my uboats to destroy all britains convoys, but he cant move his ships out of dock to do anything about it lol

they are both on dialup by the way. I assume small lag, even tho we live close to each other, but surely it wouldnt cause all of this?

can anyone help? thanks

well LordHumongous is right

this game is way to big and demanding to work good on dial up. To much information that needs to be processed. and by them having such slow connection probably everything wont get thru in time and maybe filterd away(well it shouldn't) but they would have big lag spikes every hour in the game:D

try to lower ur speed to the lowest, maybe then their connection will have time to send and recieve all the information.

Dial up isnt necessarily slow. I use a 4Mbit dsl dial up connection myself.
Not that it does me much good, as I cant seem to be able to join any games. And noone can join my games either.
Frustrating is putting it mildly.....

hrmm.. dial up means 56kbit connection not 4mbit connection mate:) from my knowledge anyway:)

thanks guys i thought this mite be the problem... thanks for confirmin it. im gonna have to wait till they get adsl. Australia is years behind in internet connections, and adsl is still expensive and unavailable in some locations... :(
