So I installed the mod, booted it up...and saw that my maps looked like this...

I could still tell what was going on, but the textures were pixelated and cubic, like this.

I thought, "Huh, that's weird." I checked to make sure I was using the right version of CK2 with the mod, and I was. However, I remembered that I had taken off the forests and city sprawls (because my copy of CK2 was slowing my laptop down), so I just went into the settings file and tweaked that so they were on. I thought may that was it.

I instead got a nearly black map with the textures high up and levitating above the map. The best way to describe it is the textures were on the Y-axis, while the map itself was on the X-axis. It was just weird.

I thought, "OK, lemme try turning off my hires texture." I did so, and it went right back to the square texture.

Does anyone know what's going on? I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the mod, including deleting all the original files leftover after the uninstall, and that didn't work.

I figured it out...I simply took off the pow2 texture in the settings file. Now the game looks normal :)

Hey man, I've been having this problem too. The game works perfectly in vanilla, but I get these glitchy maps in the mod. I tried fiddling with the pow2 texture to no avail... what were the rest of your settings on when you fixed this problem? cheers

Here are what I have for settings around the pow2 change:

{
draw_terrain=yes
draw_water=yes
draw_borders=yes
draw_trees=no
draw_rivers=yes
draw_postfx=yes
draw_sky=no
draw_bloom=no
draw_tooltips=yes
draw_hires_terrain=no
draw_citysprawl=no
}

last_mods=
{
mod/A Game of Thrones.mod }
low_res_textures=no
force_pow2_textures=no
last_used_id=""

These were all done in the settings document found in this location (for me): Documents > Paradox Interactive > Crusader Kings II

Thanks. Unfortunately that doesn't do it for me. It actually messes stuff up a bit more! I'll see if I can find another way.

Probably a platitude response, but have you updated your video drivers recently? I had some gfx problems with EU4, and found out my video driver was WOEFULLY out of date. When I upgraded it, it solved a lot of gfx-related problems.

I'm sorry to hear you're still having difficulties.
