Hey, i created some new countries and wanted to test them as player but when the scenario loads, i get everytime a CTD. The weird thing is, if i start the scenario as one of the usual countries, i have no problems and the game runs.

http://s1.directupload.net/file/d/1502/pph8hgtp_png.htm

^ All the new french minors appear but i can't play them by myself. I get those CTD also when i select Guyenne and Anjou as nations and i didn't change important things for them.

There are no AI, Leader or Monarchfiles for them.

Well, your entry does not refer to an AI file, so we can rule that out. Many countries do not have leader files, so I think we can rule that out too. And I'm pretty sure the game auto-creates a 7-7-7 monarch, so the lack of a monarch file shouldn't be a problem (in fact, it is possible to play as the pirates, rebels, and such, so I'm pretty sure it's all right).

What exactly happens when you load it? Does it get to the end of the loading bar and then crash (with or without an error), or can you actually get to the map before crashing?

It loads to the end of the loading bar and then came the crash without any error message.

Well, in that case, I'll have to let some more experienced modders help, because I don't have a clue. :(

For Guyenne and Anjou, i changed nothing in other files. Thats why i'm so confused about this. For the other countries, i changed the names in the text.csv as well as in the country.csv and i changed the colours and stuff like tech group, the sprite looks etc. so that the countries are french.

... DarkBrown;DarkBrown;latin;FRA;FRA;U00;MIN;8;3;2;6;5;5;4;8;0 ...

Nothing that would cause that crashes i think.

Did you remove the provinces assigned to the new countries from their original owners, from both controlledprovinces and ownedprovinces?
(Although this would cause crash always, I think, even when playing as other country...)

So, the game crashes:
- when you start the game as one of the new countries
- when you play as other country and you display country information about one of the new countries
Right?

... The only thing same for these two is .... VP?
Monarch is generated by game engine when it's missing and it doesn't cause problems.
What else is in the country info? Culture? It seems to be ok.
Badboy rating? This looks ok too.
I really don't have any clue where to search for the problem.

Maybe somebody else will think something out...

Yep

Right?
Nope. I can see everything and interact normally with them.

Hehe, i found a new failure. :D

The country info is an almost 1:1 copy from other new created countries in another scenario from me in which they work. It's just confusing.

Ah, then I misunderstood your sentence:
"I get those CTD also when i select Guyenne and Anjou as nations and i didn't change important things for them."

(that "also" confused me) :p

You say when you play an original nation it works fine, but can you view the country info of the new nation/s?

Because if you direct it towards a non-existant leader file or something then it might crash when you either play as them, or when you click on their country info. I've seen similar things happen in an old version of WATKABAOI.

What do the entries in country.csv look like for these new countries?

Infact from that snippet you posted before you seem to have a space infront of one of your slider settings. Things like that might confuse it.

Try whether you can interact and get all informations from the country without a CTD when you're playing as somebody else. Try browse it's country info screen, browse its provinces, diplomacy etc.
Does everything works fine?

I had CTDs for example when I set "nothing" as a province goods. The game was working fine until I selected that province.

The game crashes because it's ordered to display (or use) invalid information. In your case it is some information you normally see when you start a game.
But, there aren't too many things displayed to you after the start.

- stability
- manpower
- cash
- date
- traders, diplomats, etc.
- VP
- provincial goods
- province name
- city name (?)
- city view (buildings)
- flags and shields
- army sprite
- city sprite
- minimap
- map
- anything else I forgot

Check from other country, whether all these informations about the corrupted country you can get without CTD (eg. look at its sprites, flags, shields, province infos, ...).

PS:
Going this way, soon I'll begin giving you advices like:
"Take a stone, pour it with a holy water and put it on your PC case. Then walk three times around your PC backwards saying twice per round: Bugs of Eu2, go away."

Holy Cow! That is some weird shit. You get money from your techs ! :D

If you want I could take a look at the file. ;) Sounds like a COT thing. Try to access their provincial info page if it crashes then it's that. Maybe you also left a trader hanging from a nation you've deleted? But you didn't delete any nation right?

Nope if both nations got city and owner and control then the first nation in the file will be shown ingame as the owner and controller, but when you go to war and they cede it the game will crash. I had this problem in WATKABAOI earlier.. It's hard to spot which is why sometimes it has survived. Like Foix in the latest version is IIRC under France aswell, so Chefkoch check this aswell. I've fixed it in the upcoming version though.

The scenario for the second problem. Well you see at the start what i had done. Just start a game with Germany. I also thought at first it's something with CoTs but i didn't changed something with them.

I checked and fixed now every CoT but the CTD still happens. I guess it came from that silly stats i had posted.

//
I got it. The problem that caused the crash was something about the estimated income.

But the first weird thing is still there. :D

What year is it? Early years can cause problems.
