The big problem is that there's absolutely no influx of new people. People dont' really see the fora at the bottom of the list, and this then is hidden behind other ones. So it's just so out of way that nobody ever finds it.
So we keep losing poeple, but never get any new ones.
Yeah, you are right. We had about 50 active members at the best of times, and it's natural for that number to go down over time, I don't think we have particular problems retaining people. But in a healthy environment those would be replaced by an influx of newcomers which we just aren't seeing. Actually, weren't we allowed to hold an exhibition game in the regular off topic forum every 6 months or so? Might be a good idea to have those regularly, even if we don't make huge planned events out of all of them like the first one. The exposure could help. Ideally I wish we could move back, there's definitely not enough werewolf games going on anymore to flood the front page. Maybe we should petition...
OT suffers from the same lack of influx, to be honest. There's just a larger base, so it's less obvious, plus there being lots of different topics means that retainment is stronger.
Also doesn't help that all the other forum games, which people did concurrently with WW, have all moved to other sites.
An exhibition game might work, but I doubt it'd do much as most poeple in OT are gonna know about WW already, etc.
