I am inclined to believe MAWofdoom's read on Ironhide and trust he is a villager. Just as Wagon said about me, if Ironhide is lying, he will just be tanking his credibility in the future, especially when he's a villager.

Sometimes in this game, you just have to take a leap of faith.

Yeah, voting Sleepy as an alibi would be a very randy thing to do as a wolf. Nobody else really fits.

vote randy

Ok, so I guess that's fair. I have been known to vote packmates if it seems necessary.

Thing is though, Aedan had been pinging my radar for days before he was lynched. That day I voted Arkasas I did mention that I didn't trust him at all. And in fact I didn't quite trust any of the cases that day.

Sometimes I just like to go against the grain. Popular opinion is suspicious.

As for Ironhide - no, I don't know how he plays. I did see that remark from Maw, but without context it's pretty safe to say I don't see why it would be clearing.

But if it's not him, it has to be Arkasas. Nothing else makes sense.

Sorry for being to absent, family holiday and I shouldn't have subscribed for this game...

I really like Dedonus analytics, and had a gut feeling about Randy too, so...

Vote Randy

I don't trust Aedan.

I mean, sure, when he made his post it sounded reasonable, but at the same time half-defending Yakman isn't very villagery. His defense seems to be "I wasn't defending him *a lot*", but really, that's no defense at all. Wolves try to take middle grounds all the time.

Still, Aedan is an extremely good player, I'm loathe to lynch him on something that isn't rock solid.
I think the last line of the second quote above (the very post you were referencing in your most recent post) is quite interesting.

Again, Aedan is a confirmed cultist. Cultists are more expendable than wolves and at the time of this post, the pack was the_hdk, aedan, sleepyhead, and a cursed villager (hopefully you). Since the seer hasn't been alive since the beginning of the game, throwing some shade at a cultist to get goodie points for the end of the game seems like a reasonable strategy for a baddie. Especially since aedan wasn't in danger on the day of the above second quote, he wasn't in danger on the following day, and he only died because Witch Agatha scanned him.

I disagree with cultists being less valuable.

Cultists tend to have good powers. Aedan wasn't just any cultist - he was a distiller, and he tends to be good at throwing people off the scent. He was valuable.

I normally don't care if someone is a wolf or a cultist, all packmates count for parity.

Similarly, I didn't give a rat about who else was being run up the day Aedan was lynched. Witch Agatha basically announced the outing in that first post she made that day. And the only two options were already-very-suspicious Aedan and Sleepyhead whom at the time wasn't exactly on the radar for anyone.

As for Sleepyhead - maw telling me Arkasas claimed Doktor and that he was planning to have Dedonus shoot his two top suspects - left me little choice. I could vote Lief, and bandwagon, or go with the alibi.

Anyway:
God, I love you guys. I've missed games where every single move is analysed to death and nobody gets away with shenanigans easily. I hate being a wolf, and still don't know how to manipulate people, but it's been an honour eating you guys.

@Culann I hereby officially surrender. Great game, guys. Congratulations.

Last wolf surrendered, I’ll do the victory post when I get home. Great game everyone! A little sad I wasn’t apart of it.

Thanks for hosting Culann.
Great game indeed.

As for you, randy, then I actually had pinged you after aedans lynch.
Was a bit suspicious of you earlier too.
A shame I died that night, as otherwise I'd have made w big cad against you. Voting aedan also made sense from an alibi sense.
A three way should almost never be accepted that close to parity. If it had continued until around dealing then you'd have an unassailable excuse to switch ti Caillean or HDK. Given cases on hdk and Caillean were similar you probably could have got away with switching to her, but in any case you could have saved aedan.

Was it because of the IG scan claim I was hunted, or would I have been hunted anyway?
I asked for claims like that because of how I legit didn't think there'd be a priest and hence I didn't expect there to be a JL. So had to do something to get things rolling.

Agatha reached out to me shortly before deadline and got my protections. She also had reached out to Maw. As he potentially could be bad I didn't want to reach out to him as I didn't expect both she and I dying. I expected either I was hunted or she was, and then my protection of her would save her.
So she could pass on the knowledge to Wombat.
Sadly that was not to be. Which I was annoyed at, but turned out to be a lucky stroke and to your detriment: Wombat had protected Sleepy on night 2 meaning he was the only person certain to not be a curse aside from Maw, who'd been seer scanned after night 2.

Had Maw known that, then Sleepy probably wouldn't have hung yesterday.
Though, hopefully they'd still have found you.

Also, for your mates, not you: You do realise block voting is bad, right... Like, look at the voting records. Its block voting galore...

Nicely done randy, and very nicely done dedonus! I had checked off randy as safe (hence why i told him that dedonus was going to use a shot and that arky had claimed doctor and shouldnt be lynched), so I'm kind of glad I was hunted since otherwise I would've just assumed arky was lying today.

Thanks for hosting culann! That was an exceedingly fun game! Getting to be PJL spokesman for the first time was really cool, and I had way too much fun writing that announcement post!

I want to apologize to @liefwarrior for shooting them.

I'm kicking myself for not shooting hdk on the day Aedan was outted as a cultist. I decided against it because, if I had been wrong, it would have been bad for the village and the wolves could spin me as a scapegoat. But had I shot hdk and Wagonlitz's OEO trait still triggered, Randy would have been killed instead of hdk, who would have been dead from my marksman shot, and the game would have been over. But hindsight is 20/20.

I'm surprised that the wolves didn't try to push back on claim that I was sorcerer scanned by Panzer (my conversation with Panzer was indeed true, besides censoring my trait, and so was my attendance of my cousin's wedding), as the scan happened night 0 and the no-hunt on night 2 could have called my claim into question.

I will admit I was still a little worried about arkasas' doctor claim, as I wasn't sure if this game was big enough for both a GA and Doctor. But I thought the risk of killing the doctor from not believing his claim outweighed the chance he was lying. Randy's plotter trait claim made me think that he could be the cursed villager, along with what looked like alibi voting. Had Randy not surrendered, I would have mentioned that the village should look at Arkasas next if Randy wasn't a wolf.

Dedonus the cursed marksman villager (cop) with a used shot
Wow, I'm surprised I was cursed along with the marksman trait. Thank goodness Randy was the wolf, or things would have been awkward. lol

Game set up for those who want to know. I welcome criticism as it was my first time hosting a big and second time hosting ever.

We started with 22 players 25% being 5.5 and I rounded up because I didn't want it to feel like a "big" lite with a pack of 4 and a sorcerer, or 5 pack without a sorcerer. It sort of felt like a "big" lite, from my perspective unsure if you all felt the same. I wanted to throw off some of the game meta analysis by rounding up as well and I clearly failed that. That gave the village ~82% (full roster) and ~71% projected after the night 0 hunt that didn't happen anyways. I attempted to compensate by giving the village an extra protector and gave them protection traits, and a random villager with a blessed trait. I also gave the priest the ability to double clear a single player as well to try and jump start a JL. To try and balance that I gave the wolves a single shot and a brutal which they used effectively. I changed the sorcerer to try and contact the wolves quickly since I knew they needed to be on the same page to combat the double protectors. For a bit of randomness, I made two cursed villagers and gave them traits too should the wolves hit them. In general, I was hoping for a close game which we had.

I'm not going to lie the fact so many manage to focus on Randy so quickly kind of surprised me. The only thing that I thought may have given him away is two relatively early votes on packmates, once could be a coincidence; twice? maybe not but I wouldn’t have ever guessed it. I thought it was a really good read by Dedonus but others seem to have had hit the same conclusion, guess I'm still a bit wet behind the ears.

I think the game went well and I'm a little more confident in game setup but I'm unsure whether this game was remotely balanced in any way.

Pretty well played game on by both the village and the wolves. Wolves got rather unlucky with the day 1 mess, but some very good analysis on the village's part (special credit to wagon, dedonus, and MAW) turned the tide in the village's favor.

Wish I could have stayed for the full game, but circumstances intervened. Thanks for hosting a great game, culann!

Yup, willing to stake a lot on a claim I make. It's been a pretty consistent policy since day one. Honestly, being a villager is so much better than being a baddie.

Good game all, and thank you very much @Culann for hosting! That was a pretty close game that came down to the wire. My voting completely failed the village, but the wolves were very good at remaining hidden. Props to them for escaping easy analysis.
