If the player survives the attack they won't know the attacker's name. I changed it since the other protector role allows knowledge of attacker. To offset the fact they won't know the name, I let them act as normal. Basically, doctor is just a budget GA.

There is also no 100% protection in this game to include blessed.

Perhaps call it something other than doc? Like how you didn't call your changed GA GA. As not having them know the attacker honestly is just gonna cause confusion as peole are used to what doc means.

Like with how last game hunter could decide whether their name was shown or not, but I don't think any other person than me noticed that.

If it's an established role people assume it works as normal. So when doing wide changes best to make it a different name

You're reading it wrong, it's saying if the hunter chooses to shoot someone, their name is revealed. It's also the same write up as this game, sans flavor stuff.

This game- "Security Training/Hunter (Hunter): Has a one-time ability to shoot someone dead in the night. Their name will be revealed if they choose to do so."

Last game- Springvale Hunter (Hunter): One of Mondstadt's hunters. Has a one-time ability to shoot someone dead in the night. Their name will be revealed if they choose to do so."

Also, total aside from this conversation, but next time the van Helsing is used, its write up should be edited.

"Van Helsing: Has a one-time super-scan ability which reveals all roles and traits, and has the equivalent ability of both One-Eye Open and Hunter. Once his hunter shot is used, he loses his One-Eye Open trait. Scans as a cultist to the Priest."

Specifically about the super-scan ability, since as written it seems to say it will reveal all roles and traits in the game, rather than of one player. This has been an issue with the write-up for years, and I believe once confused a player. It's a well known role by now and we know what it really does, but for clarity's sake it's not hard to add in "of a single player" after all roles and traits.
 
I feel bad after sending out all of those invites, I'm not sure exactly when but I have to go out of town to a funeral. I think it will be sooner rather than later, I can update on mobile but may need multiple days of vote counts and updates are going to be late while I'm out of town.

If y'all rather close it and let someone else host, that'll be cool by me.
 
That's terrible, i'm sorry to hear about that.

Would a long signup period be enough to accommodate your travels? Someone (me) can host a lite game to fill the time

Otherwise I think we would not mind bare updates and can put multiple hands to work on the votecounts. Though no one will be upset if you choose to focus on this grave matter instead.

It's up to you.

My condolences.
And don't feel bad for having sent out invites. These things can't be known ahead of time, at least not when exactly they'll happen. And nobody is gonna fault you for barebones updates and I'm sure people can help with counts and such.

Sorry, I've been waiting on family to get back to me all day. Tentatively the funeral is set for Aug 5th (it'll most likely be the case), so I'll be out of town the 4th through the 6th. Depending on when we start. I can do updates on mobile which will most assuredly be late and rely on others to do vote count, or we can do a long signup and Euro runs a lite, or someone else can host a big. I don't have a preference, updating out of town won't be an issue for me as it only takes a few minutes. I thought I could host easily since I was free for the next two weeks.

I appreciate the condolences and patience. My Grandmother passed late last night, and her decline was rather quick, it isn't exactly a shock we all knew it was coming but we were told weeks not days.

I'll wait and see what people say. Hopefully we'll got more sign ups as well.

Sorry to hear that, @Culann.

I don't mind waiting until after the funeral to start the game. I also have an idea for a big, if no one else is wanting to run one instead.

With regard to the game and to keep up momentum then I think starting this one is best. So if you feel you're up for making mobile updates then I say do that. Somebody will be able to help with counts.

So as you said you don't mind which option, then I say start at the expected time, I.e. don't do a longer sign up than you had planned for.
 
Might be an idea to have a backup GM to help with writing RP updates and what not.

Given the low turnout thus far it may not be required.

Seems most are cool with late updates and helping out with a vote count. I'll just do it. Leave signups open for a couple of more days to see if we can get a few more.

I think signup have been open for 4 days. Several people have pm’d back that they are busy. We can run this as a lite with 14, or try a game with traits but I’m not confident of my ability to make a. balance game, or leave signups open for a few days and hope we get a few more.
