Werewolf CXIX
Occupy Paradox
Long have the larger corporate monsters like Activision and EA used their power and advertising budgets to push for filthy, unthinking shooter crap that we know are recycled. We have had enough of their mania for expensive DLC, lack of publisher support, stupid anti-consumer DRM and abysmal customer service. Starting today, we shall use the venues of Steam and digital distribution to tell to their faces that their policies will result in crappy and forgettable games. They will push back with more draconian tactics, but our collective purchasing power shall overwhelm their marketing and lobbying abilities. To show this to them, we will stand on the side of the small publisher and independent game developer; who are willing to listen to us and at least make an earnest effort to satisfy our needs. We will NOT BACK DOWN. WE WILL NOT LET OURSELVES BE PUT DOWN WITHOUT A FIGHT.

The Rules
§1. You sign up for the game by requesting so in a post in this thread.
§1a. No new players will be admitted into the game once it has started, unless they are replacing an existing player who is unable to play anymore.
§1b. All Players WILL RECEIVE a PM of their role. PM the GM ASAP if you do not receive one and are in the player list.
§1c. You are responsible for keeping your private message inbox empty enough to receive private messages. You are responsible for any messages missed due to your inbox being full.
§1d. If you are not going to be able to play, announce it as soon as possible. Failure to do so will make you blacklisted, marking you as an unreliable player that won't be given a special role in the next Werewolf game you are participating in; special roles require reliable players.
§1e. Multiple blacklistings may result in you being banned from ever participating again.
§2. The game is split in two phases, night and day. Baddies hunt during the night and the villagers vote to lynch during the day.
§2a. Orders must be submitted to the Game Moderator before the deadline.
§2b. Lynchings are done by public voting. Whoever gets the most votes before the deadline is lynched. Correct voting is done by typing VOTE [INSERT NAME] in bold letters at the end of the message.
§2c. DEADLINE FOR VOTES AND OTHER STUFF IS (2300 GMT+8/1600 GMT+1/1100/GMT-4)
§2d. A repeated inability or refusal to vote before the deadline results in REPLACEMENT, as well as being noted for future EXCLUSION from the game, UNLESS you provide a warning.
§2e. Forged Private Messages (PMs) are allowed. Screenshots of PMs are not. PMs from the moderator are for your eyes only, do not show them to others, as this defeats the idea of the game.
§3. SPECTATORS AND GHOSTS MAY HAUNT, TAUNT AND FLAUNT, BUT NEVER REVEAL ANY INFORMATION (COMPILATION INCLUDED).
§3a. ANYONE CAUGHT REVEALING SECRET/INSIDE INFORMATION WILL BE *PERMANENTLY* BANNED FROM PARTICIPATION. NO EXCUSES ARE VALID.
§3b. When doing ghost/spectator commentary, please use a non-white colour.
§4. The villagers win when all Wolves are dead. The Wolves win when they eliminate any other evil packs and the evil villagers equal or outnumber the good ones.
§5. The abilities of the special roles override these rules in case there is any conflict.
§5a. Nightly orders are handled in the following order:
- Doctor
- Seer
- Hunter
- Werewolves
The Roles & Traits
- Protestors (Villagers): Fed up with the interference of capitalist corporations stealing gamers' money, they have chosen to boycott non-Steam platforms to force companies to make games more in line with gamers' high expectations.
IMPORTANT MUST READ #1:
All villagers have ONE life unless otherwise specified, and Kill Points (KPs) subtract from it. Once you have no more lives, you are dead. Lynches ignore life counts.
- Community Organizer (Seer): The Community Organizer is basically a volunteer who has stepped up to police the protestors, and ensure that they act peacefully. Because of their pedestrian nature, they may have flaws in their ability to detect moles, or even completely misidentify them.
IMPORTANT MUST READ #2:
Seers MAY BE One of the following types:
Regular: Scans normally, can tell Protesters from Corporate Plants without problem.
Insane: Scans REVERSE to one's alignment, Protesters ping as Corporate Plants, and vice versa.
Naive: Scans ALL players as Protesters
Paranoid: Scans ALL players as Corporate Plants
- Corporate Plants (Wolf): These scumbags wish to destroy any legitimacy of the boycott, to ensure the tide of gaming masses conditioned towards recycled shooters keep on playing their game.
IMPORTANT MUST READ #3:
Wolves have x KP (Kill Points) per night in the game, where x is equal to their pack size divided by 2 (x/2); A Wolf Pack MUST use all KP every night, but may choose to use multiple Kill Points on a single person. In the case of multiple packs targeting a single person, ALL KPs on that person stack. Wolves MUST ASSIGN players to do their attacks for them; as it will determine any possible role-blocks that may occur.
Note that only the above roles are guaranteed to be in a game (i.e. 1+ exists of each role above, 0+ exists of each role below).
- PR Specialist (Godfather): The Godfather is a werewolf that has been able to infiltrate himself and keep hidden because of his PR skills. He is scannable as a regular villager or v.v. by regular/insane seers.
- First Aid Provider (Doctor): The First Aid Provider can only target one person a night, and cannot target someone on consecutive nights. Their protection temporarily adds one Kill Point to that person's life that night. They cannot target themselves.
- Rich Sympathizer (Miller): Part of large conglomerates, these villagers scan as opposite of their alignment for regular and insane Seers, naive/paranoid Seers are unaffected by their role.
TRAITS
- Insomniac (Roleblocker) Roleblockers target one person a night, and render them unable to do their job; Scanners lose scanning ability, while wolf/hunter hunts can be blocked (and NOT refunded) if they are targeted.
- Veteran Protester (Blessed): These long-time disaffected people know how to work the system, and thus have two Kill points.
- Enforcer (Hunter): He has the ability to target someone during the night with one Kill Point, kill points blocked or otherwise targeted on already dead players will NOT be refunded.
Special Day 0 Event: Elections
- Day 0 WILL have a VOTE for the position of Mayor and Vice Mayor; missing this vote counts as an absence.
- The player with most votes will have their vote weight tripled every day, and the vice mayor will have their vote weight doubled.
- Players who become the Mayor and Vice Mayor cannot be targeted for that night's hunt.
- There will be two players randomly assigned as Bodyguards for the Mayor and Vice Mayor. Surviving bodyguards will take 2 KP to kill the Mayor/Vice Mayor,
unless they are werewolves.
