When I died I still had Snoop as a Bravo wolf, with Falc, Rendap , and SPLIT in Alpha.

the two non-voters (j-l and .... whoever split replaced) screwed up any analysis. It was only through SPLITS later actions I felt him a wolf. Ese got away clean, however.

I find it interesting that so many had me tagged as a baddie and yet I survived until the end.

Why not coming after me?

Because, especially at the end, the focus was kept on conjecture about the previous voting , even though all of these weren't turning up any success. It would have made more sense to have voted off each scanned person one by one until the cultist or turned wolf was found, but I think by that time a lot players ceased to care and were showing up to vote for who had seemed to be the crucial reason for the previous incorrect vote.

Also, you might have lost the vote that I lost, or at least a tie, if the players who had their votes for Falc would have checked in to see what what was happening.

I will say that I was a terrible wolf. Not sure why I went after Trespoe, even now.

if you had contributed, even a bit, towards discussion, you would have been fine. but you didn't and when the time came for the noose, it was really easy to look your way.

I hope the next GM for a big game doesn't wait to start his game till this GM (Najs) has finished his AAR.
Because in that case I'm worried that a new game will not be started soon ...

(And in the unlikely case no one wants to GM a new game soon, I can start one (the Dopinghunters) within a week...)

For the record, I've been quite busy. And from this point on there just isn't very much going on that isn't in the open. Bravo is dead and the three Alphas are merely waiting the village out until they can leaderlynch someone for victory.

But if you want internal pack discussion for the last few days, I can be of service.

I believe yakman has dibs on the next game. YAK get the sign ups going!!!!

GM AAR - Village Fail and The End

Long story short, all important roles except the 2 wolves and 1 cultist of Alpha pack are dead. It is now Day 9, and Alpha needs to kill 7 villagers to win. They have one useful trait at their disposal, the Leader. Unless something radical occurs, they must survive for 3 whole days before it can be safely activated to ensure victory.
Out there, unbeknownst to even himself, the joker named snoopdogg awaits. As a Cursed Hunter, he can and will (not!) be a decisive power in the hands of either side.

Anyway, here's what happened. The village did lots and lots and lots of deep thinking, several times both voting and calling out especially Rendap the evil evil cultist. And then, they decided it was much better to kill a villager, preferably one with Seerish Powers that had been used on Yakman the now dead villager. Sure, Rendap helped them decide this one, but the baddies weren't very decisive this day. The village sorted itself out with barely any interference.

This is what the baddies had to say to each other:

Hey, I forgot to ask - have you used your scans, Rendap? What were the results?

Also, who should we hunt? I'd go for Cliges. He's pretty cleared and active, which makes him a threat.

Yep, both scans used and both Scannies hunted. I got Randy and hdk, so nothing wasted... :D

Cliges looks like a good choice from yesterday. I'll see what I can come up with of Bogus analysis, since we're the only baddies left. We need to survive 4 days... :)
Looks like clinge broke the tie away from rendap. We should not hunt him today. Maybe hunt trespoe or Cody? Not going to change the hunt rioght now, but if I do not hear from one of you will ask for trespoe to die closers to deadline, unless something changes.

Hunt Trespoe Backup TNT, guys feel free to change.

Not that much. I've probably lost a PM or two.

Anyway, 2/7 necessary villagers were dead when Day 10 began. The Village proceeds to pursue another innocent to kill, while still keeping discussion up. The fog down there must have been really heavy, because this man was one of few to actually place his vote in the right place (and it was later changed). Cliges and Cody managed as well, but half the crowd thought Cliges was a wolf by then and nobody really listened to Cody after he leaderlynched esemesas 1.0 on a whim, effectively saving the cultist hdk. Amusingly, both this day and the last day there were a few lists of who was Alpha according to someone. Rendap was in most of them, from what I can tell.
I would ask that the wolves eat me tonight. I also like to live dangerously. And I feel like the last villager.
Unvote Falc. Vote Rendap. We can kill him if we try.

In other news, esemesas botched a snipe after Cliges made a tie, effectively removing said tie. THE_SPLIT on the other hand arrived fashionably late to the deadline will still looking somewhat honest.
Unvote Cliges
Vote reis

After having Falc as a solid candidate for much of the day, reis was lynched instead. A regular villager dead instead of a... Regular villager.

This is what the Alpha pack had to say to themselves:

Okay, feel free to get votes on me if you feel that would be beneficial... :)

When saying that, I belive we should

HUNT Comm Cody
Backup Funnyman

I've just about cleared them both and that should be our hunts. The rest are not as cleared... :)

I don't know if Najs will accept a Cultist sending in the hunts, but we'll see.
Hunt above is confirmed. We just need to get to 7 players.... We can try a fake outing, but it might be too risky, althought I could be a witness to terrible hunt ;)

8 is enough - Then we have a leader... ;)

That ended up as their final hunt order, by the way. One former 1st Leader down the drain.
But a witness, used on Night 10? Not that likely IMO, but sure... It didn't happen though until the last day (when it really didn't matter).

Either case, 4/7 necessary villagers have now been successfully killed and Day 11 begins. No indications of wanting to hunt snoopdogg, who has forgotten his trait anyway.

AVN drops a PM to me with his very accurate prediction:

AVN said:
Alpha : snoopdogg (wolf)
Bravo : Rendap (cultist), esemesas 2 (cultist), Split 2 (wolf)

It's the only combination which makes sense.
So if this is not correct the baddies have played a perfect game or there was a really strange set-up.

Sure, the pack names are wrong (I assume mistake) and he thought Bravo still had a wolf. But other than that, spot on aside from esemesas being a wolf.

Now, at the end of Day 10 Cliges messed up. He made a tie and one of the wolves sniped it away. And now I want to take the time to answer this:
Oh it was a bad idea, I'll grant you that. But this could have been avoided had anyone actually considered that Rendap or tnt almost have to

No matter what, how do we know that you aren't setting up close votes to confuse people like myself who are clueless and awkward. Not that you ARE, but how am I supposed to tell.

It's been a ride, a wild ride full of CAWS, waffles, baddie tells, and crovaxian tells. I'm still not entirely sure what all of that means.

Just give me another chance. I told you, I'm not remotely clever, at all. I'm rather slow to learn, and this is only compounded by the fact that our access to the truth is incomplete and indirect to start with. My understanding here is somewhere between what Plato would have called illusion and pistis. If I've learned poorly, it can't be only myself to blame. I need someone to help left me up, out of the cave.

This has been like a trial be fire. Or a trial by water. Or maybe a trial by steam.

Please just give me another chance, and I'll try harder.

You did absolutely terrific really. Sure, you were consistently wrong and may have misled the village slightly, but that is a risk with every analysis. You were active throughout the entire game and kept trying. It'll get much better with experience. Stay classy.

Anyway, back to business. Cliges was now Scapegoat no 1 and Falc was run up again alongside him. Some defeatism is sipping in as thoughts are circulated that the wolves actually outnumber the villagers (at 6 vs 3 it was pretty close to a safe wolf victory, I admit).
Eventually, Cliges, Falc and Funnyman attempt a switch to Rendap. Had this worked the village would have been in a significantly better position to win. Alas, no dice. Cliges the villager ended up getting lynched.

This is what Alpha had to say about things during the day:

It's just too tempting right now. Should I go for it?

Nice Tie you almost got there... And it looks like you are off the hook with it... :D

With Cliges fucking up, we should be able to get through today without losses and then we should be golden with the leader. We just need to ensure that we don't tie tomorrow and we should live all 3 of us... Life is good!

For tonight I suggest:

HUNT The least deserving Funnyman
Backup Mr. G

I know, I know. They're so chatty it's almost cute! And yes, that is the only message I have saved from the entire day. I suspect I've lost a few...

Parts of this may have come from the past day, but at least the two last ones are from after deadline.

Keeping very quiet at the moment. Not going to post a vote until we've agreed. I think that you and ese should vote differently and I'll join 1 of you. If all other go for one, we have the leader to solve it... :)

We need one more dead goodie to win, we have a leader and I doubt there are any hunters left. We can easily go for one person.

Najs, when do you check for parity?

I'd like to nominate Funnyman's death scene as the Funniest this year! Pure gold Najs, thank you!

With both Cliges and Funnyman (the 4th Leader) dead, the village was effectively done for. 4 villagers facing 3 baddies, baddies equipped with a Leader that could only be countered by a tie (in which case it's almost certainly be one casualty each + one hunt = parity anyway). Day 12, final day, was dull. Split outed Falc based on a witness, which everyone should have realised was just way too late. However, at least Falc still believed there was a Bravo pack which might explain why not every villager in town tried to kill Split. I guess, I don't understand it at least. Amusingly, we ended with Split at 4 votes - two of which his packmates - and Falc at 3. Even if esemesas hadn't used his Leader they could just have sniped and killed Falc either case.

And now, the final PM round. Cut down a bit, because there were quite a few of them flying around in the late afternoon.

At 19:07, almost 2h before deadline
Rendap said:
Okay, how do we want to do this? Snipefest or other attempts?

For tonights hunt if we end up in a tie:

HUNT TNT
Backup Snoop

If I haven't heard anything else, I'll be voting Split in 15 minutes or so but will be around for a snipe as needed.

Possible, but I would be a lot more confident if Ese was around and had voted.

Ese, please confirm your leader order is set to save us.

They're getting nervous...

Rendap, we might have to start planning for ese not showing up, and you might have to snipe if possible. If Najs auto lynches ese we might have an issue. On the assumption that there might be one more day, I am going to change my vote to someone who voted me. Najs please hunt snoop.

I agree. Najs, can you reveal what will happen if Ese don't show? Will you lynch him or "just" refuse giving him a win?

HUNT Snoop
Backup TNT

We need a backup.

Have you planned for how the votes should end up?

Najs, can you reveal whether you have a leader order or is that between Ese and you so far since we haven't been informed?

Now they're definitely nervous!

20:19, esemesas checks in and 20:33 Rendap starts setting up the plan

Right now it is 4 on me, and three on Falc. I am pretty sure one of them space cadets, will unvote me to bring into a tie, but I will snipe and unvote falc and vote myself, brining it into to 3 2 1 spread.

Okay, unless I hear anything else, I'll let you handle the snipe.

And that is it, ladies and gentlemen. You know the rest. There was no sniping. There was only a dead Falc.
Village, if anything, take some comfort from the nervous wolves thinking esemesas might now show.

GG.

Now get the next game up already.

DOOM OF THE WEREYAK 7: THEY WILL NEVER KNOW IT'S CHRISTMAS, 1984

BandAidXmas.jpg

Irish rock musician Bob Geldof, hoping to raise funds to alleviate the horrific famine in Ethiopia has brought together many of the world's most famous musicians to sing his new ballad, “Do They Know It's Christmas?” and attempt to change the world through song.

The utopian Hibernian has unwittingly written his own demise, for the UNYIELDING WEREYAK have secretly orchestrated the Abyssinian apocalypse and have little interest in the healing power of music. Their only objective is the overthrow of the pathetic realm of Man, and his abject subjugation to the deathless reign of the MALEVOLENT WEREYAK!

Geldof has gathered musicians from around the world to London to form the Supergroup that he has dubbed “Band Aid.” Unknown to the former member of The Boomtown Rats, some of the world's most beloved celebrities have been subverted by the bloody-handed Lamaists of grim Thibet, and others have been spirited away to cryptic monasteries and replaced by SHAPE-SHIFTING WEREYAKS!

Can the celebrities uncover the HIDEOUS, SOUL-WRENCHING MADNESS WITHIN THEIR RANKS? Will the THANOTIC SORCERIES subvert Geldof's vision? WILL THEY KNOW THAT IT'S CHRISTMAS?
