He was a large part in the derailment of the thread on the Copenhagen terror attack.

Strange.

He might have got some infraction points from derailing the terror attack thread.
Also, I'm dreading the possibility of mods using a wordsearch algorithm to find swear words, because if they retrospectively punish, I would be pretty much perma-banned on the spot. Then switch to using non English swears; those aren't banned. And I am serious. The mods have nothing against a polandball containing e.g. 'fick dich' f*** you, but if you say shit you will get an infraction. Similarly kurwa as far as I know means whore and that is said all the time. And isn't perkele a swear too? And there has been Swedenballs trashtalking Denmark etc. So just keep the swears in non English and you will be fine. It is silly, but it is true.

The mods on a forum run by a Swedish company only punish people for using language that isn't "family friendly" when swearing in English, not when discussing the benefits of incest, fratricide, adultery, or genocide. :p

I actually guessed madchemist was the GA immediately after the no-hunt. I was due to block him the night I died.

*Nods*

The proper thing to do upon the observation of competence is indeed to impute it to me.

I'm not actually this pompous and arrogant. Really.

Also curious why I was the choice. My game was abysmal and I was an imminent lynch...

Well, I was protecting you because I had believed the EURO outing and you were the first vote on him. No idea why they hunted you.

Your turn, BTW.

Or game-ruining wankery. But I did indeed think you'd be the most likely to correctly guess a hunt target.

That is because if they banned discussing those things they would be banning the discussion of large parts of their games.
On the other hand it is really silly you can say rather nasty things in other languages than English and everything is fine, but if you say shit you get an infraction.

I did not derail that thread. Not anymore than I would have derailed a thread about the Crusades if I discussed Christianity in it. Not anymore than I would have derailed a thread about the Holocaust for discussing Nazism in it. Not anymore than I would have derailed a thread about the Soviet Union for discussing Communism in it.

The main proof, anyway, is that there were mod posts on the same page I did that discussion in and I did not receive an infraction for this.

I already had 2 infractions from a few weeks ago and this PB one just got me to the point limit.

FIGHT DA POWAH!

Let's be honest: After my "It is better to break than to bend" signature, it'd have been pretty hypocritical of me to censor that comic.
Now you are making me curious. What was it about?

But it actually isn't better to break than to bend. When you break, you're dead, which means there's no possible way for you to make a stand again for whatever cause. And also, you're dead, so that kind of sucks too. :)

And how are you gonna make a stand for something while bent?

If everybody thought that way, we'd still be living under tyrants and despots. I for one am glad some people gave their lives for my freedom and would do the same for others'. It might not seem that important where you are, but where I come from, with the people in power suspending elections and ruling for years longer than is allowed by the law, it *does* matter. As much in the small things as in the big ones.

I see your point, but I'm not quite sure if censoring Polandball comics is tantamount to submitting to communism. Then again, maybe that's what the Bolsheviks want us to think. :ninja:

Also, your signature makes me feel uncomfortable, ergo it should be banned. :p

You heard the man.

You heard the man.
Yeah, man.

I once had this exact discussion with my grandfather. I was arguing the opposite side, though, so I guess I just enjoy arguing. ;)

Actually though, I'm arguing against that expression as a general life principle- it's kind of silly to never ever compromise, ever. That's how Congress is right now, and it's not going too well. Compromise and change are how accord is reached. And also, you must bend your ideas to the realities of the situation and to others' advice. Consider that some people used to think that the Earth was flat. Well, obviously, it isn't, so people who believed that had to bend their beliefs or they would just be flat out *wrong*.

Anyway, not *ever* bending is not the best idea, especially if the thing you're standing up for isn't that important in the first place. That's just called being stubborn. ;)

I do think standing up for what you truly believe in is really important. I haven't forgotten the sacrifices in the Revolutionary War that allow me the freedom I have today, nor have I forgotten how important those freedoms are to preserve. Just make sure your sacrifice actually means something, and that the world and your movement would probably be better for your death. (I mean, a brilliant scientist/statesman/doctor/poet/whatever probably shouldn't just die in a war unless it's really essential.)

Dang, I really do enjoy arguing. :)

But no one EVER tried to break people who thought the earth was flat. The people who were killed, ie, broken, were those who challenged the idea that the earth was flat. And to those people, many would have said, "just give it up. The earth is flat and this is how it's always been"

Of course, you should listen to other people's arguments, and accept the fact you may be wrong. What I'm saying is you shouldn't submit to other people who force their views on you. You can convince me that you are right and that I am wrong, but you can't force me to accept your views, and you can't force me to act according to them just because they're "the norm".

The game is over, move on to another thread.
