    The world is embroiled in war. Unlike the wars before, however, this war is fought not by armies, but by spies: men and women who lurk in the shadows, weakening governments, supporting coups, and collecting intelligence on their enemies. The CIA is the United States' spy agency, the counter to the Soviet KGB. The Soviets, however, seek to turn their enemy's defense against their enemy, by sneakily launching an internal takeover with sleeper agents, recently awoken with orders to sabotage the agency, and bring down the Director. However, the Director will not go down easily. After a botched attempt to rid themselves of the Director, one of the double agents were caught, and revealed the existence of the conspiracy, but nothing more. It is now a race against time. The Director has disguised himself amongst his agents and has begun looking into their backgrounds, desperately trying to unmask the remaining double agents before it the CIA is taken over, and he is killed...

    RULES:
    There will be 17 players, no more, no less. Roles will be handed out after #17 signs up, or after a significant time has passed since the last sign-up.
    The game will then proceed to the First Night (after I have handed you your roles).


    The Roles

    1x CIA Director (Seer)
    4x Double Agents (Werewolves)
    12x CIA Agents (Villagers)

    Central Intelligence Agency Agent (Villager): Members of the CIA, they are on the lookout for Soviet infiltrators.

    Double Agent (Werewolf): Soviet Infiltrator, wants to takeover the CIA and cripple US spy operations.

    Central Intelligence Agency Director (Seer): The man appointed to be in charge of the CIA by the President. Once per night, he researches an agent's background, to check if he is a Soviet Agent.

    NOTE: Obviously, the players are encouraged to choose appropriate characters to play as, and to roleplay if they like. However, if a player does not choose a character, one will be selected for them at such time that something happens to them, usually something bad.

    Deadlines for votes are given by 18:00 GMT – (PLEASE CONVERT THIS TO YOUR OWN TIME ZONE IMMEDIATELY TO AVOID FUTURE CONFUSION, for example, this is 12:00 CST). A vote at 17:59 will count, whereas a vote at 18:00 will not.

    Game starts with a nocturnal deadline.

    Winning: The CIA Agents win by finding all the Double Agents. The Double Agents win by reaching 50% or more of the remaining total agents.


    Standard Lite Rules


    There shall be seventeen players. All roles will be handed out after the last person signs up. The game will then proceed to a night deadline.

    The game is divided into two periods - night and day. For practical reasons these two periods are run concurrently, from one update till the next. Each update is 24 hours apart.

    Each day, all players vote to lynch one of the players - the person they think is most likely to be a werewolf. Each night, the werewolves decide who to kill. In each 24 hour period, the village will lynch, and the werewolves will hunt. The villagers can try to lynch multiple people by creating a glorious, Lemeard-approved tie, and the werewolves can also decide not to hunt anyone at all at night. Beware of Crovaxian slips as well!

    The werewolves win if they manage to reach parity with the villagers.
    The villagers and seer win if they manage to kill all the werewolves.

    Various rules:
    §1. You sign up for the game by requesting so in a post in this thread.

    §2a. No new players will be admitted into the game once it has started, unless substituting for a current player.
    §2b. Players who have been subbed due to failure to participate may not sub for others

    §3. You are responsible for keeping your private message inbox empty enough to receive private messages. You are yourself responsible for any messages missed due to your inbox being full.

    §4a. Orders not delivered on time are IGNORED.
    §4b. NOT VOTING means REPLACEMENT OR EVEN DEATH, IMMEDIATELY. The granting of any "grace period" or forgiveness for late votes is entirely up to the GM.
    §4c. Invalid votes (like voting for the GM, voting for dead people etc.) are treated like no vote is made. The GM has the final say in all matters.
    §4d. Lying to the GM results in permanent ban from werewolf games.
    §4e. Private messages from GM (whether true or fake) can be quoted in the game.
    §4f. Your initial role private message can't be quoted in the game---i.e. you can quote from later in the role PM thread, but you can't quote the initial one.
    §4g. Screenshots of private messages aren’t allowed in the game.
    §4h. Discussion of PM numbers is forbidden.

    §5a. SPECTATORS AND GHOSTS MAY HAUNT, TAUNT AND FLAUNT, BUT NEVER SUGGEST ANY COURSE OF ACTION, AFFECT THE GAME IN ANY OTHER WAY NOR REVEAL ANY SECRET/INSIDE INFORMATION. ANYONE CAUGHT DOING IT WILL BE *PERMANENTLY* BANNED FROM PARTICIPATION. NO EXCUSES ARE VALID.
    §5b. When doing ghost/spectator commentary, please use a non-white colour, but don't use gold which is the GM colour.

    §6. Alliances which aren't based on your roles in the game between players are forbidden. These alliances which continue from one game to another undermine the whole idea of the game.

    §7a. Voting must be done in the following way. Write "VOTE" and the person you are voting for in bold text, minimum font size 4. For example.
    VOTE X
    If you wish to unvote someone, write "UNVOTE":
    UNVOTE X, VOTE Y
    Capital letters are optional. Any other type of voting is counted as no vote and will make you eligble for subbing. Spelling errors are subject to oversight. In case of revoting without unvoting the original vote will be the counted vote.
    §7b. At the end of the day player with highest votes is killed (lynched). If there is a tie, all leading candidates will be killed.
    §7c. Players will be dead when GM posts the update saying so, until such time happens every player still in game is alive (if barely in the case of vote winners)
    §7d. Editing vote posts is strictly forbidden.

    §8a. - The GM can and will remove players if the GM believes the player is not participating at his/her full capacity. This will be done through the use of killing the player's role, or using substitutes, if they are available. All such decisions are made solely at the discretion of the GM. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THE GAME IF YOU KNOW YOU CAN'T PARTICIPATE.
    §8b. - When asking to sub then please do so by PM; the GM will keep a hidden sub list.
    §8c. - The GM is always right.

    §9a - Threadmarks made by the GM SHOULD NOT BE ALTERED OR DELETED for any reason. Punishment for the violation of this rule lies entirely up to the GM.
    §9b - For ease of visibility, no person, living or dead, other than the GM, should create threadmarks starting with "Werewolf Lite" or an easily mistakable variant thereof.

    §10a. – Trust no one. Especially not the GM.

    As everyone prepares to begin their search into the Soviet sleeper agents, a role call of all HQ agents is performed. Unfortunately, one amongst your number is missing. Further inquiries into Agent Aedan777's whereabouts leads to you find his suffocated body laying flat over his desk in his office. He was taken by surprise while working late last night.

    Poor guy.

  • Day 1

    Hunting down Soviet spies is difficult work, and so you begin your investigations by determining what you already know about the Soviets: they are technologically and socially backwards, after all, how else could they justify preferring communism over capitalism? With that in mind, you turn to two main suspects, with very similar code-names. One of them, Agent "Capage," looked the most out of place, wearing what appeared to be Medieval garb. Accusing him of murdering a fellow agent, you have him interrogated, and while he ends up not knowing anything, his mind is too far gone to be of any use to the CIA, anymore...

    Night 2

    The session had carried on a bit too long the previous day, so everyone went home more exhausted than they might have been otherwise. It was the perfect opportunity for the Soviet spies to strike, and strike they did. Deciding that the best way of removing themselves of the continued presence of the CIA Director, they wire the director's car to explode the next time it is used. Unfortunately,
    Director "Rovsea" did not stop to think his car would be wired to explode, but perhaps he should've considered his ridiculous disguise, that being the very generic "spy" uniform, would cause him to stand out.

    Regardless of his choices, there was no saving the
    Director...

    With the director dead and suspicions running high, accusations fly across the room. Eventually, just when it seems Agent "Arkasas" is to be interrogated, Agent Hax draws his sidearm and shoots Agent Maxwell "Eternaly_Lost" Smart square in the forehead. Agent "Arkasas" ends up still being interrogated, following the fiasco, but, unfortunately, both he and Agent "Eternaly_Lost" appear to have been loyal CIA agents.

    Night 3

    Following the previous day's chaos, many among you hope that tonight brings quiet respite. This, however, is not meant to be, as word arrives the next morning that
    Agent Juni "jeray2000," your youngest agent, was put into a coma by highly experimental (not to mention extremely rare) drugs, which could only have been obtained by the Soviet agents...

  • Day 3

    The death of several of your co-workers and friends has shaken you greatly. Everyone is unnerved, and just as it seems two will be accused again, another agent, Agent Double "BlackCrown" O. Six, stands up and accuses another over himself. His accusation may have been handled seriously, had he not in his panic dropped the British accent he had maintained until that moment. Suspicion on Agent "BlackCrown" overrides any other thought, and, fearing for his life, the Agent confesses to being a Soviet Agent, and is soon hauled off for questioning. It will be a long time until he sees the light of day again.

    Night 4

    Re-energized by the successful apprehension of a Soviet spy, the agents in the HQ return home joyful, ready to catch more agents tomorrow. Unfortunately,
    Agent Sterling "Claude LC" Archer, one of the group who had helped bring the Soviet agent in, was found dead in a ditch by morning, apparently kidnapped, killed, and left to rot.

    The HQ grows quiet, as while there are still many lower ranked agents around, the main offices have been reduced to nine...

    Seeing as how making a last minute split decision worked yesterday, one among you decides to try it again... with a gun. Unfortunately, the guy he shot, Agent "Wagonlitz," turned out to just be a normal CIA agent.

    Arriving the next day, you find it odd that
    Agent Robert "Audren" Mueller has been missing for two days in a row. Turns out he had been killed in his apartment a while back, quietly and cleanly, with no trace of who had done the crime.

    With the margin for error now non-existent, you decide to coalesce around a single suspicious candidate in order to ensure no foul play. However, one agent is overeager to engage in this idea, and he soon finds a majority of the group against him. Agent Christopher "alynkio" Steele is soon discovered to have Soviet papers on him, and is gunned down while trying to escape. You breathe a sigh of relief: you have bought yourselves another day.

    Night 6

    Unfortunately, it appears that the Soviet agents do not take kindly to you killing their allies. They strike back, neutralizing your British co-worker and famous spy, Agent James "Hax" Bond, with a poisoned martini.

    By now, with the remaining number of agents being reduced to five, the day just seems to pass by quietly. You agree to arrest the agent who had attempted to divert attention from the Soviet Agent yesterday, nearly helping him escape. Indeed, Agent Mrs. "Jacksonian Missionary" Pollifax is a Soviet Agent, confessing after her arrest, but going no further to incriminate her ally.

    Night 7

    With just four of you left, you collectively agree to not leave the office tonight, to keep the last Soviet infiltrator from trying to escape. When you travel to the boardroom the next day, you find
    Agent "Spockyt" dead on the table, knife in his chest. One of you locks the boardroom door, and announces, "This, this is where it ends."

    With just three of you left in the office, tensions run high. Agent "Capibara" is begged by the transfer agent, Agent "Aedan778," to be spared, arguing that Agent "Tornadoli" is indeed the last Soviet infiltrator. Agent "Capibara" wavers back and forth, at first unsure who to trust.

    Reluctantly,
    Agent "Capibara" chooses to arrest Agent "Aedan778," but as he does so, he is shot in the forehead by Agent "Tornadoli," revealing himself to be the last Soviet Sleeper Agent. He soon frames Agent "Aedan778" for the murder of Agent "Capibara," and takes a seat in his new office, that of the Director of the CIA.

    Within weeks, CIA Agents are finding their cover compromised, and Soviet agents capturing them left and right.
    Director "Tornadoli," however, manages to keep these reports suppressed and away from the President. As US agents world-wide are outmaneuvered, their Soviet counterparts begin infiltrating positions in governments around the world. It won't be too long until the dominoes start falling into place...
