How? It would not. There was no reason to place one outing above the other (if both of you were villagers). It didn't matter which one of you was lynched first, since the next day the other would be lynched. I tried get people to lynch AOK first because he would have had the power to escape the noose the next day. It there was a risk trespoe (or AOK) would be the seer, the village would have lynched the non-seer-target first. (AOK already tried to get out of a outing in another game by telling people he was the seer himself, which worked). You telling the village that trespoe was the seer would have made sure AOK got lynched first, because noone would have risked lynching the seer.

And then we wolves would have to hunt Trespoe (now we hunted Randy), and Randy would have lived for another day, he surely would have exposed me as a wolf. I think then you would not have to argue as Brugman for that to happen. People would have believed you if Randy told then that he told me Trespoe was the wolf. That could indeed have changed everything.

Don't be a sore loser, Randakar :)
Yes, they should have known better. Yes, we were tossing slanted logic out there. Slanted logic. Perhaps incomplete logic. But not bad logic/flawed logic, like you were implying! I was just making sure it would point towards our desired lynchee for anyone not reading too closely and not really thinking.

That's the very definition of flawed logic. The conclusion didn't match the results.
As for being a sore loser - Screw that. You try being on the receiving end of this kind of stupidity sometime, see how you like it.

From the point of AOK, the logic was perfect. As was yours (and by extension: mine) from your point of view. The problem was that the remaining villagers (me included) had no way to foolproof conclude who was right and who wasn't. If it weren't for the contact I already had with you the day before, I would have been less inclined to believe you. (if it was enough to believe AOK, I am not too sure. I am cautious regarding his plotbuilding and scheming). Therefore my conclusion was that AOK were most dangerous and considering there was no risk believing one over the other, I went for the one who was most dangerous, and tried to convince the others of that point too. Logically, there was no difference. Only in "metagaming" was there a difference: do you know how dangerous and plotting AOK can be. That's why I spent the whole day trying to find examples and arguments. I am still amazed how everyone still got stuck on believing AOK. Did you guys really think Randakar and I were wolves?

i would have take it with a little dignity and humor. it's only a game ;)
Perhaps, but even then we spent a lot of time trying to convince everyone and it just feels disappointed to discover that there was absolutely nothing that can be done against this. What is to prevent future wolves from always doing this? What effect will this have on believing the JL in the future? Will it have use playing this game beyond the one-to-last-day before parity?

so it's not that you are having problems with losing THIS game, but that you are afraid that AOK did not only take a suicide bombing to blow up this game, but that he took a bombing on the forum-game WW in its totality?

Yes. I'm afraid that might be the case.
And ofcourse I feel bad for trying to prevent a village-loss despite that it turned out to be an unwinnable situation. Game is no fun if you are still in the game yet nothing can be done what will even help in preventing loosing.

Relativism would work a lot better if I hadn't spend a full day putting everything I had into preventing what happened here. Game or not. I am allowed to feel what I feel after that, and I am allowed to express it.
Besides, I -have- taken this with dignity. I have been a model of sportmanship so far. Too much so, perhaps. My attempts to keep that locked inside do not make things better. Ranting on this forum about it is by far the least damaging way for me to vent it.

Why stop there? Let's start doing fake outings on day 1, just to see what we can get away with!

I thought about that. My thought process was "Killing HDK is not a good idea. That will make me suspicious. But wait...I'm AOK. I am always suspicious."

I almost never avoid a hunt simply because it will implicate me. If I want someone dead, I make him dead and deal with the consequences later. I think that is the best policy.

I am disappointed in you AOK. especially for metagaming.

It would have meant AOK. 11 would get to say "See! Trespoe -is- a wolf, and he has been posing as the Seer!"
I know. Hindsight is 20/20. However, the fact that an un-outed player disputed this outing should have been enough.

People are not supposed to blindly follow an outing in case of an unouted player disputing the outing like this. We didn't do anything wrong - what went wrong is that jonti and adamus should have known better than this.

I can't hammer this point enough. Bloody morons.

Why should I have taken your later outing over AOK's?
Had Trespoe not been the seer, it wouldnt have mattered which we lynched first.
You also forget the possibility of 2 conflicting JL's. It's happened in the past, where one "JL" is made up of a wolf and x number of patsy villagers.
Bloody moron. :)

We were outplayed and outmanouevered. That is all.

Why should I have taken your later outing over AOK's?

Un. Outed. Villager. Speaking. Up.

How many times do I need to say this? The chances of Trespoe, reis and me being wolves was for almost all purposes zero. I conveyed that to you in every single way that I could think of. My case against AOK was better, and AOK is the worst liar in the game. I -should- have had some credibility on my side here.
But obviously, you are still deaf to this argument.

Of course it mattered. I told you why it mattered. Rysz told you why it mattered. The fact that I apparently needed to tell you that Trespoe was the seer was just insane. :(
Especially since I -knew- that coming with that particular argument would only serve to convince people further that I was lying. If it hadn't been, I would have started posting all of my PM conversations with him and Reis in the thread openly.

Has it? I have never seen that happen. Not once. Not in Lite, at least.

On the contrary, you're the one who is not listening. You can keep repeating the unouted villager schtick until the end of time but it still means nothing in the scheme of things.
Also 2 words. Faked JL.

You are as trustworthy as an estate agent with a sideline in used cars, AOK is as trustworthy as a politician. This is all.

It has indeed happened.

Yes, it did. But after a search I did friday, I found out there haven't been many instances in the last year. Mostly because all wolves concluded that it wasn't working, (after a couple of failed attempts some time ago) since it will lead to the death of the wolf. Somehow it did work this game. Yes, the wolf died, but he managed to took two full days of analysis and the whole JL with him. That's why this was catastrofical. There was no JL left, and only 2 days worth of analyses (including the mostly not too informative first day). And AOK as a wolf will mostly result in no further leads, so it wasn't like the village had any advantage analysis-wise from a dead wolf.

But just because it has happened in the past was why I expected at least jonti to not blindly follow this first JL. I tried to convince you guys why it was highly unlikely the second outing would be the wolf, especially with the first outing being the liar AOK, and the 2nd outing being the honest Randakar.

Still, I do think that knowing that trespoe was the seer really would have helped the village. And the knowledge that you let it slip to Dirkje as well, because it would make her a highly likely wolf. There was no harm in it, since trespoe was already going to die due to AOK's actions anyway. You might have thought it did not help, but the situation was rather hopeless anyway, and any more information would have helped that day, and possible the later days.

I agree that it was a mistake. But do not forget - I did not expect the village to lynch Trespoe.
Nor did I expect Reis to die as well. If one of us three had lived someone would have been able to tell the village what's what with dirkje.

Yes. Of all the things that happened, Reis' autokill was unexpected, and I don't blame you for not trusting me enough to tell it to me. I could have been a very, very cunning wolf. But it would have been on par with the likes of TT or Ironhead to go in such a heated discussion with a packmate. I'm not on that level ;)

Let's stop with the after-game discussion. We lost, but it was not due to a lack of trying from our part. Except for a few things, there was not much we could have done more to prevent this.

There is only one question I would still like an answer to (but I doubt whether I will ever get it). What would AOK himself have done if he were in your or mine position, confronting his evil self?

...
I am at a loss for words.
Fine. Keep on burying your head in the sand and blindly following every outing from the word "JL" onwards without further thought, then. I am not going to waste more letters on a lost cause.

That's what -I'm- saying!

I had already chosen trespoe as the target before dirkje told me Randy claimed tres the Seer. I almost changed my target because of it, not thinking Randy so silly as to do something like that.

Randy's leak did not hurt the village. It almost saved it by making me think it a piece of purposefully placed disinformation. (My hunt target I mean. I had already "outed" tres by the time she told me. But if you had saved trespoe from lynching, who knows what happens.)

Oh, and one more thing, Randy, we are now even for what you did to Aleister "AOK" Crowley in that game Rysz mentioned: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum...agon-Warrior-4-Chap.-3&highlight=announcement

You ruined my plan in that game. I spent all night and day trying to pull that off. And now we are even.

I am disappointed in you AOK. especially for metagaming.

And I was disappointed in you going AWOL. Now that we have both been disappointed in each other equally, we can move on. :)

lol.
Well, fair enough then.
Thanks for reminding me of that one - that does make me feel better :p
