Right. 3 people still alive. 1 of them is obviously a wolf, 2 of them aren't.
To make things even more interesting, the Holy Cross returned to me.

Here is the deal. I'll make it really simple. I have a knife and a cross. I do not need both. The remaining goodie needs to lynch the wolf, or have one of the items. The wolf needs to lynch the last villager and get parity, or have the knife. Either way I win - well, unless they both lynch me for reasons I cannot begin to understand - I'm pretty sure me holding the cross for two days proves my innocense rather nicely.

Let's just all win together. The wolf confesses, I give him the knife and we lynch him. He wins because he has the knife, the rest of the players win because we lynched the wolf. The end.

Both of these players played a very good game and deserve it, imho. At least a lot more than the inactives that just got their asses handed to them by the wrath of the GM.

Note that the alternative is a vote off where my vote does not even count.
There will be a tie and two people die if we do that. I *still* win, of course. But I'll be alone.

These wolves are completely irrational...

:D

I say you die. :D

I howl for the last wolf.

Also, EL, can I please be the Wolf Ghost?

Eh? Nice bluff, but it didn't serve us really, unless you... impressive indeed. Quite well thought out, if Kaetje has the cross. Well, we will find out in a while...

Kaetje is dead, jim. She was one of the priests.

Lord_D is the person who has claimed to be a guard to me.

Interesting...

Interesting, but if there is a sorcerer alive that means the game is now over. Parity would have been reached. There must still be a living wolf because the game starts with 2 wolves according to the setup. Besides, without a living wolf the sorcerer loses, too.

You are voting me, but I cannot be that one remaining wolf. I held the cross for two days and the knife ever since Kaetje gave it to me 2 days into the game. Kaetje also protected me using her priestly power, giving me +2 days on top of the +umpteen days for the cross and the knife. Lord_D knows this, since she told him in PM.

Initially I thought Lord_D must have been playing a very very good game with slinky handing him the cross where he could hold it - but the loophole is that whoever our wolf is, he must be one of the 2 initial wolves. Both Lord_D and me have held the cross. So it can only be you.

For the record, Lord_D contacted me today proposing me to ask for the cross, then later on pretend that I had it.

Ok. Here's a plan.

You post in the thread (as everyone already knows You are the shining
beacon of goodieness ;)) that however has the cross should contact you
and give the cross to you. Say in the thread that this is to make sure
this person's identity isn't revealed. Regardless of what happens, you
make an announcement in the thread later on the absolute good guy has
given you the cross. You then proceed to claim you sent the cross on
to someone still needed to be cleared.

If you are contacted by the person, you tell him to keep the
cross. If you aren't, we'll know his identity by nightfall. Whatever
happens, at nightfall the goodie will be holding the cross, prolonging
his descent into darkness by another night.

Shall I protect you tonight?

Did you by any chance receive a pm from the guy with the cross yet?
Yes or no, it might be time to claim so in the thread and get on to
the next phase of the plan (posting a message you passed it to someone
else somewhere towards the evening).

(I didn't, but proceeded with the plan anyway)

Then the following exchange happened:

Ok, here is how it is.
I know I am looking really suspicious, and that i dont have a defense except self perseverance.
The reason why I wanted cobaltblue lynched was that I was the alternative lynchee at that point; and the other time when I voted suspiciously, which I cant remember right now, was for the same reason. I am a villager, and I wish I could prove it to you in any other way, but the cross is the only way as far as I know. Cobaltblue and Walrus suggested that the cross was passed around, so please pass it to me.

Please dont think I am a wolf, if I had a more important role than a villager, I would not have missed the first few day. Please trust me, you don't have to send me the cross, but I see no other way of redeeming myself. Again, as you have seen I have not been very active, and I know others have not either; but at least I am more active.

Please.

Very well. Here, have this cross. Hang on to it until the deadline, please.
(Please send a PM back to me and EL that you accept it, or it will fail.)

Oh god yes! I accept. I promise to keep it

That one looked valid. I switched to slinky.

(More proof that I am not a wolf, btw. Why on earth would I switch to the sorcerer?)

At first I thought Lord_D had double crossed me in collusion with Saintis, but that scenario doesn't work. It really doesn't.

Crap, stupid wintertime!

Apologies everyone I hurried home, but didn't calculate that in :(

No worries, the village will live nicely on without you :D
edit: To be fair, I got caught off guard by that as well ..

Vote Reis91

Of course the vote doesn't count because I hold the cross, but that cannot be helped.

Reis, just confess and ask for the knife, ok?

I knew it was over, my hope was that you would forsake analysis and act irrationally, but it was too obvious. The one thing I forgot to account for in my post was exactly that there are two wolves to start off with. Anyway, you didn't need that info to know it was me.

Yes, I hereby request the silver knife. I got a long story to tell anyway, so better to do it while alive. I'm also willing to sleep in a locked bedroom, for the safety of the remaining villagers.

Good game, both of you. And Slinky, me and Saintis take full blame, we could have avoided it so damned easily... oh, randakar is to be blamed (and congratulated) too, for managing to trick Saintis, and, by proxy, tricking me too... although i was also hoping you could break the tie towards jopi, as I instructed.
Result = Bad weather killed the wolves :D

Very well. Now please do me a favor and either unvote or vote for yourself, ok? :)

I hereby offer reis the silver knife with the explicit condition that he votes on noone, or himself (which boils down to the same thing)

To be fair this is a pretty odd case - you cannot win, but you can still take someone with you in your death. That's not normal, usually both villagers remaining have their votes count ;-)

But giving you the knife is mostly just good courtesy - it's well deserved, after all.

edit: I guess you could still unvote and vote one of us - thus killing one of us, but you'd get lynched yourself too, leaving the other one alive.
It would be rather pointless though ..

I can't hunt if I'm lynched, so how is that so? If you both vote on me, I can't do anything to you now, can i?

Oh, you mean Lord_D not voting, but we still have bit less than a day to next deadline, don't we? Plus, randakar, you deserve it, having contributed significantly to this outcome, even without possessing any role (that I know of, told Slinky to avoid scanning you).

Hope EL posts the orders given, as I don't have saves of every PM. And there is some incredible stuff in there...

No, I didn't mean that. He will show up at some point. I'm not doubting that. :)
What I meant was the possibility where Lord_D votes you and then you vote either of us back. My vote doesn't count, so it turns into a two-way tie right there. So you can still deny 1 person victory ;-)

(Like I said - quite pointless)

Should I just end this? It looks rather clear to me how this is going to end, it not like I expect much to change over the next 22 hours, all things considered...

I will point out this section on the rules for the knife.

Code:
The person that holds this item(the knife) when the game ends wins no matter what side they are on. The werewolf that holds it uses it to cut the rope around his neck and escape into the distance to try and attack again later, where the villager that holds it uses it to injury the wolf that was selected to kill him, and gets away to warn the nearby towns that the wolfs will be coming for them next.

By the way, how can I be sure I got the knife, and don't end up like Saintis, who thought he received the cross?

Good question. Unfortunately the GM only confirms that at the deadline.
What you should ask though is - did I have any reason to pass the knife on to someone who has a role that can't descend into wolfness before the deadline yesterday?

The answer is "no", of course. The knife was my ticket to win. I wasn't going to let go of it any time soon. :)
And if I didn't pass it on yesterday, I could not have passed it on to Lord_D today either - he simply hasn't been around ..

I don't like it, but hey, I'm not in a good position to make any demands, am I? :(

You're in a very good position. You have the knife. You will win now regardless of what happens.
I still have to wait for Lord_D to show up :)
