Events should be enough... The Napoleonic Wars were fought and won in Europe, not overseas.
This man knows what he is talking about.

Wouldnt want it any other way.
The question remains tho, are events random or irrespective of events in Europe, or can we affect them by what we do?
Say, take over Persia and gain a land connection to India.. and being hostile to Britain ought to affect a change or two over there.
Similarily allowing the spaniards access, either on their own or by assistance, to their own fleet and ports... should have an impact on what is going on in south america.
Or Britain losing its naval dominance, and/or multiple ations trampling over the green and fair island, ought to have a few extra effects in the colonies, no longer able to support them while someone else can reign supreme on the seas. Just might see the entire empire crumble much like the spanish empire?
Or perhaps a british event of "lets forcibly find deserters on foreign ships" and unsurprisingly.. you get starspangled "pirates" showing up that seek to sink/capture british ships.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't a great part of some countries (such as England, Spain, ...) income come from the colonies?
How will this be represented then (if not through events or a map?)
And there's the bonus that Britain get from free ports in Europe.
That's not the colonies I know, but some of the goods were traded there too.
