Hi,
I have a question.

In Deus Vult I was playing as the duchy of Uppland, with two demesnes and one vassal. I went to war with a pagan one province tribe (Åland), I had one ally, manely the republic of Gotland - a one province county equivalent in the same kingdom as me (Sweden).

Every time I laid siege to Åland Gotland accepted peace with them for one or two gold in return. That feels stupid, should not I be the alliance leader since it is my war, and since I am the stronger faction in my alliance?
What are the criteria for leading an alliance? I've looked through the manials for CK and DV, but could find the info.

As far as I know there is no alliance leaders in CK. So when Gotland settles peace, you should still be at war with Åland, unless Gotland takes the Åland title also.

That's weird, because my troops stopped sieging Åland when they went to peace with Gotland- and I could subsequently declare war on Åland again, and the same thing happened.
What are the different ways you can be forced into a peace?

Only one I know of is if you are a vassal, then you are forced into peace when your liege settles peace.

That could have been because Gotland started the siege first, so you were in essence helping them siege. Tho, once your Duke arrives on the scene, the siege ownership should revert to you (Duke over a mere Count) eventually.

Edited
In addition, if the defending Ruler should die during the siege, the siege restarts (that is a frustrating one).

Edited 2:
Oops, I missed where you stated "and I could subsequently declare war on Åland again". That means your Liege settled peace, which would then apply to your war with them also. It's entirely possible your fellow vassal settled for Gold at the same exact time (or a day or two before) as your Liege did.
