Don't really see the point in being high up on the ladder so I thought it would be interesting to play something offbeat and unusual.

Edit: not asking for the specifically badly constructed decks but for the worst divisions. The process of trying to make them somehow playable for myself is an integral part of the fun.

I would say Lehr is the worst. Its income is terrible until C, it has a weak A phase and it lacks in infantry which is even more important to have in 1v1. Other than that, I think it depends. Windhund has the worst total income in the game, but on the other hand, it has a strong selection of units in phase A, so I could see skilled players perform well with it. Then there's 12SS, which can't put up a fight against 4AD on most maps at the moment because it doesn't have a single fighter in phase A, which means it can't actually take out the B26 until phase B.

Something between Windhunt, pz lehr ,12 pz, 21 pz and 9 pz. yeah there is a trend axis pz decks are trash.

I have not played 9th Panzer that much myself, but I think it seems like a solid deck for 1v1 play. It has many cost-effective units and plenty of veterancy.

Veterancy im not seeing it the infantry is super expensvie and super inept for cost. two star pz4h are bad. one star pz4j are worse. The speedy tanks are fun but 1 elite AT gun or a phase A sherman will destroy any amount of these for free.

It is simply a variation of Windhunt which can take 22th out of 22th places for 1v1 decks :D

SSB is extremely powerful vs infantry divisions. Not the worst, it's top 5 imao.
I perfer panzer lehr, 3th armored and 116th are the worst divisions for 1v1.

They're good against german infantry divs with weak arty or armor options and that's none of them. In certain maps they work ok but thats it.

It really raped most german infantry divisions, in most map. On open fleid, just spam centaur, cover it with sherman, and thats GG. In forest and city, their infantry firepower is unmatched. The only problem is 3FJ in bocage

Hmm... I guess I'd go Lehr, Windhund, and 101st Airborne if I don't know the map and opponent. There's some divisions that I think are a bit weaker than the others, and several Allied divisions have gaps in their anti-armor capability that makes them particularly sad on certain map/opponent pairings, but in general there's really few that make me say "oh, that's terrible in 1v1!"

So, my top 3 in descending order of difficulty:

I think the Lehr are tricky. You get very little infantry until Phase C and no tanks until phase B. You need to be really good at making up ground, although as a consolation prize your Allied opponent will be pulling his hair out at his inability to stop you from pushing through open ground once the big cats arrive.

The Windhunds are in the same boat when it comes to opening with almost no infantry but ultimately getting big cats. However, they can open with a strong Panzer III rush in A and then start getting reasonable quantities of infantry in B, so they're handicapped for less time. In exchange, however, you don't get the big cats until phase C and have bad phase B tank options so you need to have a good phase A and don't have a lot of time to exploit your armor advantage when the big cats arrive.

The 101st Airborne are actually extremely good on the right terrain, but in general they're a deck that is weak outside of a narrow niche. If you end up on an unfavorable map or against an opponent who is good at exploiting that, you may have a challenge on your hands.

Panzer Lehr is the real challenge, How to survive with sticks and stones until your big fat cat saves the day. On Ste-Mere Eglise, Pzl is a nightmare

them and windhund are the most redpilled axis decks

for high quality player only
It's a shame that allied decks hold the hand for them.......
.......
.

Equal skill and the axis guy has to really crank his way to phase c when they finally get useful, and as soon as the allied kid losses ground he surrenders and you realize that you never got to play the down hill part of your deck..... So many ssb players I play against quit when the phase a gravy train ends and you don't get an opportunity to use your income advantage

Although I haven't played ranked, I'm surprised you didn't include 21st Panzer in that list. 21st do get a bit more infantry than Windhund but they still have a massive disadvantage in terms of numbers and price against the allies. 21st also get slow halftracks and no vet in phase A. So their infantry is among the worst. Their tanks are also very bad against other tanks. The S35 is of little use against any tank stronger than a Tetrarch and dies at max. range to even the weakest allied AT guns. Windhund totally outclass them here.

They have no IG18s or howitzer halftracks in the support tab. If you want the closest equivalent you have to get the Panzer IVC which costs a lot more but has totally ineffective armour, has only 6 AP and doesn't have the range to snipe AT guns like a Churchill V would. So their infantry support is pretty bad. Their anti-tank tab is at least functional in A but the PaK halftracks still suffer from a lack of HE shells. They do not get a good air opener and their arty is all short-ranged. Their rocket arty is very short ranged, does low damage and costs only a little less than a Panzerwerfer. Spamming rockets can be effective but this certainly is no great advantage compared to many other decks. And to make matters worse, 21st Panzer gets weak armour and weak mobile anti-armour in phase B. They seem bad at nearly everything even in team games.

I've always had a soft spot for the 21st Panzer, although I suspect if I extended my list the best they'd rank is slot #6, and probably #4 or #5.

I don't think they have any flaws that make them terrible for 1v1 in specific, at least; they're just kind of generally mediocre.

you can consider all axis tank divisions as nearly unplayable in 1vs1 (if you dont know your enemy or the map)

you cant make them playable for 1vs1, its simply impossible... playable for me means winning games with it.

That makes them kids? Unless they throw tantrums I don't see the problem. Personally I think it's good when players realize they have lost and surrender in 1v1 games. In team games it can get pretty annoying, though, since it's not very fun to fight against the AI. The Wargame system where the defeated player's income was distributed among his teammates was so much better than SD's AI-takeover.

I was wondering why nobody said about Red Devils. Worse units and very low income in A make this division pretty bad comparing with 101st.

It's probably being overlooked because it still is a bit tricky to play even after receiving the double vet 2 6lbers. It can run out of infantry if not played well and while it has strong phase A infantry, they are a bit micro intensive and need mortar support in the open.

Edit: also misunderstood topic. 6th is plenty viable because they don't have the phase A armor weakness they used to have.
