I'm a lowly "single" looking for company...;)

The thing is, I'm not sure if I have what it takes to really play and enjoy multiplayer, and would like to know some things in order to achieve enlightenment (and perhaps a world domination or two).

My two greatest concerns are:
* Are there generally any ongoing MP games where players can join and leave at any time, rather than having to confirm to a rigid schedule?
* What are the biggest differences between SP and MP, besides the fact that the "AI" is slightly better for some countries?:p

In my games you can come and go as you want, as long as you dont leave during a war.

Biggest difference is that you have to think harder.

What is that "harder" there for? :D

Right now playing Tsnuami on Saturday is your best bet at playing MP. It is much fun but you need patience if things go wrong and people crash. But this is for the most parts a thing of the past.

Patience above all else.

Amen :D

Patience is the greatest virtue of any MP player. Lots of people seem to think that everyone else is going to be perfect and the game will start when they want, never crash, and the other people are going to devote their entire life to that game of EU2 (Im not saying that is too terribly bad, per se :D )

Any recommended settings for the report messages?
Should, for instance, rebellion reports be set to not appear as a pop-up?

Whatever suits you. Actually, in latest huge sessions, i even put royal marriages as pop-ups (there was a lot of human chatting, and message log was useless).

I tend to guide my merchants by hand so i stopped the useless messages whetever a merchant is successfull somewhere. I check it all three months.

Rebellions should always be observed. Else you can easily loose control of some far-flung possesions very fast..

A somewhat critical question: how do I connect? I've never played MP in EU2 before, so I don't even know what the multiplayer menues may look like...
