In province events, you can test if the province is part of a particular demesne. Is demense value strictly the tag of the ruler, or does it extend to the liege of the ruler? Might it extend to the liege of the liege?

I think it's only the ruler's tag. In general, demesne is the personal area of the ruler, while realm includes also his liege.
