When I start the game in Steam, I get a message saying "This is your activation key for Teleglitch: Die More Edition. You will need to enter the key after the application has launched. Write the key down or press the copy to clipboard button now." I was anxious to close this because I didn't know what this key exactly does, the game doesn't ask for it after startup. Is it only for activation at paradoxplaza, or does it have some other function as well?

OK, if there's a way to add info to the Steam overlay, please make that clear in Steam, there's no way to know it without going on the forums. A link to Paradoxplaza in the message would be nice.
