What happens if you enforce a treaty targeting a country that is gone after the war

So I am playing Japan, and I have the opportunity to help either Belgian or The Netherlands.

I can enforce a treaty on Belgium. However what happens if Belgium is swallowed up by NL? Does the treaty get transferred, or does it just not happen?

My assumption is that it is nullified, but I though I would ask for anyone else wondering in the future!

I'm fairly sure that treaties are nullified when a country is annexed. Very few things transfer automatically
