I noticed that France has Mogadar class destroyers listed as DLs? Is this a typo mistake? In the production screen they are still listed as DD-7s.

A "DL" is a Destroyer Leader - basically it is a big destroyer that was often used as the commanding vessel of a flotilla of smaller destroyers. It's still a Destroyer (ie a DD) in game terms - it is just the way the icon is labelled.
