i just downloaded CORE for doomsday but i dont know what i am going to face with.
Be in for a pleasant surprise. ;) It will be a hugely different game compared you your run of the mill HoIDD. Revised unit stats, revised unit stats, revised vanilla events, loads of new CORE events, 1:1 unit representation, revised tech trees to name but a few. The major aim of CORE is to improve on the regular DD, making it more historical while covering plausible historical alternatives. We have no focus on a particular country, unlike HSR, but just want to give you a hugely improved HoIDD.
There's no hurt in trying it out, as it installs itself in a separate subdirectory, leaving your HoIDD install intact.

does CORE make DD run slow?
Yes (well not DD, but CORE itself), but should you change the following line in the usa_1936.ai file:
683 # Hawaii into 663 # Pearl Harbor
Things are looking up much better after that. It's a vanilla bug actually, we don't know why it affects CORE but has no effect on regular HoIDD. After changing this CORE remains a bit slower than regular DD, but not by much. A small price to pay for getting a far better game.

You might want to change the following as well, as this was left out in the current 0.25 version (will be corrected in 0.30):
Add the following line 'allowed_brigades = escort' to the beginning of the following files:
mod-CORE2\db\units\divisions\strategic_bomber.txt
mod-CORE2\db\units\divisions\tactical_bomber.txt

are there new techs, new events ?
A definite yes to both questions. Loads of new techs, and loads of new events. The Munich chain is 200+ events for starters, with alternate outcomes covered as well. The downside is that the tech tree looks cramped and takes some getting used to, but once you get over that you're probably hooked line and sinker. The corresponding graphics aren't included yet, hopefully next release.

is there a FAQ about CORE?
Well, there's Baylox's FAQ: http://web.telia.com/~u87541651/CORE2FAQ.htm . It's not high on the list of to-do's at the moment.

Don't forget that the CAS afile for close-air support aircraft also has to have the "allowed-brigades= escort" command put in.

I'm not sure for the CAS, but Naval bomber can have escort brigade in vanilla...

Transport plane can't but in think they could...

I'm sure Baylox will have a look at those for 0.30. The only reason they were left out for 0.25 is that Baylox was 'temporarily unavailable' due to family matters.

And Secco, you're most welcome.

I am newbe in C.O.R.E.,just downloaded o.25.

I am delighted!!!!

Just one question,is there way to get back vanilla pictures of divisions instead of current military ?
Sure - just delete them in the mod-CORE2/gfx/interface/models directory. ;) But having said that the model structure is quite different than vanilla, so I would advice against that. The alternative is to download the Scytth's icon sets at www.terranova.dk.
The graphics overall is being worked on, mostly for 0.30, but the current sets are available for 0.25 (and will be the final ones for 0.25). Armor and naval trees are left out, as they will be revised in 0.30.

B&W (mandatory):

Color (optional, add-on):

In 0.3 the following aircraft will be able to attach escorts too:
* Strategic bombers
* Tactical bombers
* Transport aircraft

The reason for leaving out Naval bombers is that they just weren't escorted - it just didn't make much sense since they rarely would face off against other aircraft (and allowing escorts would mean, I believe, that the AI would build escorts for them and thus waste resources).
The reason for leaving out CAS is that they weren't escorted in the escort sense of things. They were protected, instead, by air superiority missions.

Hope that answers some questions regarding the air side of things - feel free to respond, argue and debate as long as it's done in a respectful manner. :)

But since HoI2 is sem-historical, wouldn't it be optional to escort CAS (maybe giving them some penalty for being grouped with small, slow, long-range fighters...)

That's not really possible since we'd have to modify either the Escort model (and thus affect all escorted bomber units) or the CAS model (which would negatively and unproportionally affect CAS that are not escorted).

EDIT: Also, for the AI there is never any option. I believe they build escorts (if they can) or they do not (if they can't).
