What is that annoying static noise when zoomed out? How do I turn it off?

Hi,

When you zoom out a static ambient noise starts growing louder. It gets very loud when you've zoomed out completely.
It is annoying like hell! Anyone knows how to turn that specific sound off?
I know it is tied to the ambient setting but I do not want to turn them all off!

Very first impression after I started my first game was "Wtf is that annoying noise!". And now I am hunting through forums and the internet to find a solution instead of playing and enjoying the game. Not good at all! Worst start imaginable for me. I really can't understand how this made it into release! :angry:

That is the sound of the wind. Go to your settings and adjust sound.

Zoom in and it gets quiet.

Thanks, but this turns off "all" ambient sounds. Like I said I just want to turn off that annoying white noise (wind?).

When you go away from the city all you can hear is the wind... that's how it is in rl.

Yeah it is incredibly loud and intrusive. So much so that in order to get rid of it and enjoy your zoom out, you have to turn all other ambient sound completely off.

Totally agree it's way too loud and turn off/lower all ambient sounds is not a good workaround.

Hope they can fix this, should be an easy fix to lower the loudness of that particular sound.

Because there's nothing to do about it, it's not a bug nor is anything broken.
