I've never seen download stats but I guess AGCEEP definetely wins. :)

It all began with EEP and then AGC split off wanting to include plausible non historical events eg continuation of Byzantuim or unification of Germany then some time later they decided that providing that non historical events were options they could work together and produce a truly brilliant mod.

AGCEEP is probably the most popular, and it's extraordinarily thorough. Chokingly so in fact :D

Most popular would probably be AGCEEP. Then MyMAP and WATK. Just note that AGCEEP tends to eschew game balance for historical accuracy. Then again, I guess HSR (Historical Stony Road, sorta the same idea as AGCEEP except for HoI2) did the same thing.

I heard about Age of Imperialism. Is it a good and popular mod?
Yes, it is excellent.

I just tried AGCEEP and it is indeed a superb mod! I wonder how much time and effort were put to make the mod as historical as possible even to little bits such as monarchs names. I believe Paradox would gain more sales if they acquired the copyright of AGCEEP and threw the original EU2 into the trash can forever.

Anyway, now Im gonna try other mods ;).

What the heck is that

EGUFSM is graphic mod, mainly new flags and shields. :)

Im using the Deluxe version of AGCEEP but I do not notice any difference in terms of graphic except the flags. Am I missing on something?

No, is just like that. the Deluxe version only includes shield and flags change and a link between two russian prov's

why would PD have to acquire copyright? its their game and the mod is posted on their boards: anything posted on these boards is their property.

many would disagree though that its "better" than vanilla 1.09. its different and can be fun, though its not superior.

when I started playing AGCEEP long time ago, I was never back to vanilla again... now when I finish porting AGCEEP to Kasperus map, I won't get back to vanilla AGCEEP :p

@jankren: EGUFSM 1.2 is needed for AGCEEP Deluxe.

@saskganesh: AGCEEP is pushing EU2 to its limits... It is "just" more complete.
You're right about copyright.

@szmik: you'll have to for new versions... until new map? ;)

For me it's clearly AGCEEP. Most of EU2 players use this mod and not the vanilla. :eek:o
Is this true? I figured mods were only for those event-junkies that can't play a GC without getting spammed with historical anecdotes about their kings new pantaloons. My gut feeling is that perhaps 50% of the player base use some kind of alteration to the original files (a new map, an altered event, removing straits) but that only 15-20% use some sort of event enriching mod like AGCEEP.
