What just happened?

I have been playing Surviving Mars for a few days and have been thoroughly enjoying it.

I decided to start a new game with a different sponsor/difficulty and as a prelude to this, checked out the Steam Mods and added a couple. As I was doing this, the game updated with the latest patch/fixes. But now, when I go into the game start up menu, I am unable to change any of the settings, not the sponsor or logo or Mystery, none of it.

I tried removing the mods I had just added, still nothing.

The game just broke for me. What just happened? Was it the patch/update?

Try verifying the local files in Steam. I'm not at home right now so haven't had an opportunity to try testing the patch myself.
