A major transformation that makes your race the animal type could have some uses? But I think we’d run into some of the early game problems with animal kin and Calvary abuse. That being said if it’s a major race transformation I don’t see a problem with it. Wonder if you could give your whole race a transformation ability like the tigran mystic unit from AoW3? So your whole race could have a heal that turns them into a random animal of their tier?
Werewolves, or a similar transformation that makes form more bestial. It COULD be in opposition to Shadow's Vampires...

While I agree on paper, we already have feline/wolf/mole/goat/probably some other animal I am forgetting right now.
So it feels redundant to me.
When I wanted to make a werewolf race I just picked the wolf shape.

I wonder if it's possible to make the beast forms more bestial or wolfish with more exaggerated traits? Bigger fangs, muscles, pronounced ears or snouts?

The beast transformation, if it gets designed in contrast to vampires, could make units tougher on land but lack the mobility of bat wings that could be used on the vampires.

There's also a curious idea that if they are major or minor transformations, if they will also have access to abilities that will allow them to go full bat or wolf too.
