I'm a bit all over the place in terms of genre. A good RPG will always catch my interest. Baldur's Gate 3 for example. Played the early access quite a bit, and looking forward to the full release.

The Witcher 3 as well. But more hardcore strategy games such as War in the East 2 also captures my interest. Simulators as well, although I feel they are too involved and requires a bit too much time and desk space.

I played Total War: Attila. But similarly to Rome Total War, game does not focus properly on campaign part. If I want to skip battles, I will end with poor autobattle balance.
But I like the theme, defend as Rome against tons of barbarians :)

I used to like CIV2TOT, StarTrek Birth of the Federation, HomeWorld and the close Combat games.
Then it was HOI3 and RomeTW.
When I finally got a Windows10 PC it was Imperator Rome until I got HOI3 to work on it.
There are a few others that I vaguely sort of remember like:
- Ascendency the DOS game from 95.
- Death trap Dungeon which was made by the team who produced the first Tomb Raider game.
- Baldur's Gate II Shadow of Amn. Which I was never very good at.

There's bound to be some more I've forgotten.

Apart from some sporadic RPG sessions the only thing that attracts my interest are Total War historical titles, heavily modded, of course.

So, Divide et Impera for Rome 2 is a must.

Otherwise it's Attila with 1212 mod for the medieval setting, Ancient Empires for the early antiquity or Europa Pedita + Fall of the Eagles for the late antiquity.

The Shieldwall mod for Thrones of Britannia is also an interesting option, though not quite ready yet.

I've been playing Red Dead Online quite a bit lately. The roles you unlock are a lot of fun, especially with friends like I do. Being out in an open world like that and getting to do so many different things is what keeps me in. I also like playing Garry's Mod RP servers, like SCP-RP. It's this giant prison that houses "anomalous" objects and creatures that are player controlled. There's also prisoners who are used as test subjects and the guards that keep the order. It's fun playing with so many people and getting into character and crafting a story together like that.

So unfortunately this thread will be a bit more useful for me now it seems.

Please do not take this as a rant but since I:R will be suspended do you have any other GSG to try out?

It seems I am running out of Pdx games to play since CK II ended and Imperator is suspended (I am sure to put a couple hundred more hours to the later).

I do like historical strategy games set on antiquity and up to the medieval period (sadly CK 3 seems a bit shallow to me compared to CK 2 - played it on the free weekend).

I think I mentioned it already, but the Total War Franchise exists :) I personally play from them Warhammer II and Attila.
