I am new to this forum so bear with me if this topic has been around before (which I assume it has).
I bought the game in Sweden today (I am Swedish) and I couldn't quite believe what I saw. The graphics are horrible, texts in English are mixed in with Swedish, some info are displayed on top of eachother and you can not make any sense out of it, the Swedish text in itself looks like a poor translation from English (or another language) - almost as bad as the gibberish/English in the board game...wow.
Another thing: it takes forever to initialise sound and graphics.
And I have not even begun a proper game yet.
Most of you will think I am ungrateful toward Paradox, but I need to ask this question: Is it supposed to look like this, or have I, for some strange reason, picked up a beta or whatever variant, which accidentally found its way to the store. My guess is that this is what it is supposed to look like. If that truly is the case I have two things to say to Paradox:
Get some patches out ASAP to clean up this mess. As it is now I am ashamed to show it to my friends who want to know what EU is all about.
Second, a (good) computer game can not be this messy when it reaches the store. I can appreciate that christmas is just around the corner, but time has obviously been too short.
Hope someone has some good news for me (and others I am certain) who have been waiting long and hard for this game and wanted it to be more than this.

so lets get past that. I think if you are paitent you will see some of your issues resolved, MAKE SURE you install the patches though because some of your problems will be corrected in that manner. As to the slow initalization of graphics etc, I have no problem with the game starting up on my computer, runs like a charm and has not crashed to desktop etc yet. I think many problems people are having with the game is directly related to anti virus or other STR programs, further some CD players have problems reading the EU CD because of the copy protection on the game. However your questions will no doubt be answered formally in short order.
