Following on from my other topic about the starting and ending date modification, I was thinking of working on a mod for Rome Gold. What I'd really love to do is simply bring the starting date earlier, when Rome was still conquering Italy, and then later perhaps something more ambitious such as taking it back to when Carthage and Greek/Phoenician colonies were battling it out in the Sicily-Malta region.

There are already a few very grand projects I've noticed trying to cover Italy and Greek states in particular from an earlier time line with new, more detailed or edited maps and different interfaces but I was thinking of a much simpler, less hassle option of keeping the map as it is, and just making new nations where space and their technological prowess allows (which is about 3-4 new nations in Italy which I've done so far). I realise there is talk of a new expansion, with the time line being drawn back to Alexander (yes please!) but I can't wait that long anyway :p

If anyone is interested then I'll definitely work on it more, I am still doing it for my personal enjoyment but I'd love to share it if there is interest when its in a fit state to be seen! Any parts of history or plausible history you'd like to see specifically in an earlier-start mod I'd greatly welcome.
