Do you think the game will be anounced in october at the PDXCON2019 in Berlin?
The way they made fun of it at the last PDXCON... I wonder if they did it because they knew that VIC III would be the their next thing.
Well let's see what happens.. but I really hope it will be anounced soon.
There is a good chance for that but it is not certain. Likely something is going to be annouced but that don't need to be VickyIII.

If they fail to pass the reform, it will increase our militancy. They know how the mechanic works... if they are trying to cling to Prussian Constitutionalism, they are going to have to deal with rebel spam from the people who want Vicky3... :)

Absolutely, I will eat a termite if they don't announce it then. I'll be in Europe then and I'm hoping to make it to PDXCON 2019.

He is an augur.

This.

The only exception would be that he perhaps saw in his vision "Press button to spend 50 Industry Mana to instantly boost production of liquor factory for 5 years, instantly disband rebels with additional cost of 50 military mana and turn into a dictatorship for +3 political mana every month" button.

If V3 came out with mana-fest I wouldn't want it either, I'd go back to V2 (or V1, considering V2's military and warfare was very dumbed down from V1) as well.

V2 was full of so called Mana, though. ;)

Diplomacy needed mana. And influence is invested mana.

But I also don’t want mana as it is in EU4.

The way diplomacy and influence worked in Vic 2 were just fine and not at all like the mana in EU4.
I do also hope that they stay AWAY from mana as such a central part of the game for Vic 3 like they did with EU4.

I didn’t say it wasn’t. It could be improved tough. Its still mana.

Well...everything is mana. I think the difference being that you had to spend research time on increasing the flow of diplomacy and influence.

In EU4, spending money is the easiest way to increase your MP, and money is plentiful. Research points in Vicky 2 are very precious.

Mana in EU4 is just to abstract and can be used for so much different things. In Vic2 its just more... I don’t know, it feels more natural.

Nah, come on, diplomana was mana in its purest form, you generate it over time, it represents a generic "power" and you spend it in actions to improve your X or hamper someone else's Y.
It was also the most tedious part of the game, which says a lot about how the manafest of other games might be worrying thinking of it being taken into a potential Vicky III (and I still believe it won't come to be released, ever)

You forgot to add the fact that it's called "mana" because it's mainly generated by the magic power of your ruler... upon which you had few influence for a long looong time, until they added the disherit heir feature.

Anyway, I just want VIctoria 3 to not be bland like their last releases, hope it'll be.

Given that I'm sure if V2 was released now it would get raked over the coals as a symbol of everything wrong with Paradox, I would expect to see rather a lot of that when V3 comes around.

I'd like to hear the news like that. But the developing group for Victoria is disband. Is there any news about the rebuilt of the group?

A mechanic for the German Confederation and the Swiss Federation pre Sonderbundskrieg would be great.

Futhermore, I think a VicIII could really profit of a mechanic to simulate federally organised systems better Vs unitary states like France. THis would add so much flavor not only to Germany, Austria (KuK) and the US but also to the states in Southern America with the conflict between unitarism and federalism going on.

A slow shift from a post-napoleonic to a modern military should also be simulated. This could look similar to HoI3 but having the command distance so short as to have the units move as a stack. Of course, if you have, say, a capable corps commander, moving a corps on its own shouldn't prove too much trouble.

Additionally, battles could be joined piece by piece, as it was not unusual to have units need hours or even days to reach a battlefield. Here, railways could come into play: The better the infrastructure of a province, the faster units can move to join the actual fight.
