To say WASD camera movement tends to be the standard these days is not a controversial statement, but while researching on how to use WASD in EU4 I found oddly a lot of people vehemently opposed to giving people the option use us WASD camera movement. It's really, really weird to me. The community (on forums at least) tends to be so patient and helpful to new players, but you mention wanting to use WASD then they suddenly act like you're trying to murder their first-born. I've seen people claim that using WASD is suboptimal and is it better for them to use mouse and the keyboard for shortcuts, but then the same people would prefer others to use the arrow keys and only clicking on icons rather than WASD being an option.
I am genuinely confused why people are so passionate about this specific thing? Why is so much as giving people the option is bad? Why would people rather have others use the even more suboptimal arrow keys rather than WASD? I don't understand it.
