I'm pretty sure the old one (1.04) used to be posted here but has been removed?

I'd just like to see which files have been modified as I update my mod.

Thanks!

No, it wasn't. Official patches are only ever released as .exe files (and then only for the GG version). Only betas are release as .rar (not .zip) archives.

The .exe file refuses to install for me. :( It keeps saying I don't have the game installed when I do. I tried moving it back to Program Files, changing the registries, Running as Admin, etc. :( I'd like to have it .zip form so I could actually install it. ;-;

steam or GG?

If you have Steam you don't need it, the patch will be applied by Steam automatically.

If you have GG it definitely should work.

Yeah, this is on two different computers, but in both cases I did move the folder to the desktop. The registries show the desktop folder as the location of the game though. :< Life would be so much easier if it didn't have to detect the game first, but I guess they're worried about people salvaging game files?

My main computer was acting a bit screwy and so I rebooted it and sure enough the same thing keeps happening. I tried pushing run instead of save for the manual download from the launcher and I get the same message. I also went to GG to try and download the 1.05b patch from there and the same thing happened. Cannot find the game even though it's there plain as day. I used regedit to check the registry entry and the location in the entry matches with the location on the desktop. Should I just reinstall the game and hope for the best? :(

Edit: Yeah, that seemed to work.

Edit to the Edit: Nvm, that just made things worse. It seems that when the patch couldn't directly copy in some files (for whatever reason), it got messed up and caught some exception or some such nonsense.

Last Edit: Reinstalled again, but this time I created a seperate folder on the desktop to install the patch into and then manually copied the files as if it were a .zip. I'm going to use this folder on my other computer to save me the hassle.

I honestly can't install the patch automatically through the GG version's client, *sadface*, it says something to the effect of, "setup files are corrupted",

I don't know if this will help because I'm not sure how the .exe files are packaged...but try this.

Go to where you have the .exe and open a command line (in win 7 hold shift and right click and hit open command prompt)

type the following
ck2patchname.exe /t:C:\ck2extracted\ /c

where ck2patchname.exe is the name of the .exe file

then go to C:\ck2extracted and the files should be there.

Or if that doesnt work just use this: http://legroom.net/software/uniextract
