Where are the downloaded files under Vista?

I downloaded files with Gamersgate Downloader but under this crap vista I can not find the downloaded files and the installer.

I checked the temp folder from IE8 but no files in it.

At least for HoI2 the files went into a new folder in the same folder where the downloader is located.

my problem was that I ran the Installer directly out of IE
and it went than into MS crap temp IE xyz folders which cant be found any more

Try checking in the users\<<USER NAME>> and find some hidden folder named something like appdata... maybe a search for newest files, the other possibility would be windows/temp

usually a search for *.* and order them from newest to oldest is a good idea, just be sure to enable hidden files

From start menu click your username (below your computer icon) and from the folder that opens look for folder "downloaded files" or something similar. That's where my downloaded files went by default.
