AFter doing lots of research I have concluded that this game is awsome. Or at seems to be. But before buying it I would like to play a demo of it. I have searched and could not find a site with a demo available for download, was just wondering if anyone could help me out. Anyone know where I can get a demo?

No demo exists, and doubt that any will be created at least in the very near future. Paradox simply didn't have the time to invest in a demo, there was a big discussion about this topic some months back, and you can find it using search functions in the general forum.

Thank You for the information. I have one more question. Looking at the site I noticed that this game is preety big mainly in Europe. Is it out yet in the US? I havent ventured looking in stores yet, but I dont want to wats emy team if its not out here yet.
 
It's out in the US in about 13 days if I remember the latest ravings from Mariani and co. on (in their countdown thread) the forum :)


Actually check out ebworld.com you can already pre-order the game, if you like.

Erm, the politically correct answer would be that the release date in the US is February 21st, which I make to be 301 hours from now!

(This is of course only until 12:01 am on 2/21, however I fully expect some of those seen here to be pounding on the doors at StrategyFirst despite the warning that SF will not be able to sell copies directly <g> )

Anyways, thanx for the heads up, I look forward t getting my hands on it. I'll even tell all my online freinds to research it and if they like it(and who cant?) then we can have squads and stuff! :)

hmmm....do you guys do squads for the game? Starcraft, MW, Quake, buncha games have squads. EU squads would be awsome :)
 
Just checked at the EB store and its scheduled to come out Feb. 22nd :)

If you want a demo just try your nearest warez site. Seriously, I don't want this to degenerate into a warez/antiwarez thread but I made a casual search for the game and most game demos I've seen are twice the size of the full game here. I would imagine this becoming an option here.

I almost never buy games before I try a demo, EU was a rare exception since I've wanted a game where I could could conquer Russia and make Sweden a great power for several years now.

I think not releasing a demo is pure stupidity. All they had to do was to release one scenario, put a timelimit of 10 years on it and remove all timed events that take place after that (so the game gets pretty dull for people who crack the time coding).

Honestly, I would probably consider downloading the game myself just to try it out if I hadn't already bought it.

And don't give me an ethics debate, I made a choice several years ago not to have any priated games on my computer. Not because I couldn't get them, but because I *wanted* to support developers like Paradox. I want sequels just as much as the rest of you.

Given the easyly edited, plain text files in the game, how do you even make a demo that shows EU without the possibility of a 5min hack to convert it to a full fledged game ??
Remove the AI ?
No Sound ?
Annoying blinking text 'this is a demo' while playing?

I'm not shure why Paradox didn't put out a demo but I'd be very surprised if the above wasn't one of the main reasons.

Good luck with the Russins is all I got to say to you fellas, I'm going for the Italians and Austrians. Italians simply cause eveyroen wants to rule the Italians, and I also happen to like Venice :)


Anyways, I cant wait for it to come out. Just a question, knowing that most of you have a version in German or Swedish, does it still alow us to play online?
 
Awsome. Can we chat in the game though? I mean, I know the two people have to speak the same launguage. But if one has like a German game can we chat in English?
 
Sure..The only possible problem is if the guy(girl?) you are playing with doesn't know english, lots of people that doesn't speak english, at least fast enough for it to work in a high stress situation as a ingame chat...
