Specifically colony names, just in case that's relevent. I assume it's in the save file but I dunno what word to search for.

New The Grampians. Arse. New The Hague. Arse. New The Highlands in a colony of plains. Bollocks.

for everygame you can change teh province.csv but im unsure if it works with colonies.

Well, the last two appear not to work, the province.csv giving info about places and the colonynames.csv being pre-fixed suggestions for certain countries, or something.

The first one seems to make sense but I don't know what the numbers are and I really can't be arsed to search through the province file to discover the numbers.

Having said that, I've just had an idea, tested it and discovered it works. I just use the find function to search for the province name in the prov file and and the number is right next to it. Good.

Still, when I check an established, properly named colony in the save file (like New Milan, in Ciskei which is a CoT city, which I'll keep), it doesn't have a "name = New Milan". When it's given a default name, is it not saved like a manually edited one?

One last thing, that doesn't apply, how do you shift capitals? I think it's reasonable to demand France shifts it's capital when you've stormed the place repeatedly, with it only possessing some crappy south-western provinces and a capital which is a surrounded target...

Delete "capital = yes" from the current city in the save file and add it to the new city.
