Where did Valentinianism go? It used to have one county in Anatolia, but no playable character. Now that county is replaced with Tarhuntites! I may be biased, as a Valentine myself I find anything in this game with Valen- in it utterly interesting and important. Still, it is part of the lore of the game. Has it been moved somewhere else? I can't find it. Why was it removed? Please bring back my Aeons!

Edit: Going through the entire character list at the start date, exhaustively searching through every religious group, I didn't find a single follower of Valentinianism. Except for the Ordo Pletomat! I found a few religions I haven't seen in game yet, with some interesting logos. Not a single Valentinian, however. Is this an oversight, or is it simply only meant to come about through heresy events? Surely it wouldn't hurt to have one courtier throughout 3/4 continents follow Valentinianism.

Perhaps someone can shed light on the creation of the Ordo Pletomat, and why they are the only followers of Valentinianism?

There's one military order which is Valentinian, and... that's all, I think.

It is an emergent heresy, so it can crop out of Orthodox at any time.

That being said, that one province had no attached Valentinian ruler, so it was basically just something for Isauria to convert.

I don't know why it was in Anatolia, since I don't see anything about any special Valentinian communities there (Valentinus himself was born and died in Alexandria).

I suppose the provinces where Valentinianism would be present have larger communities of different religions overshadowing it. You can only pick one per county. Can I petition for a playable Valentinian character anywhere on the map? I can't find a single male or female follower.

I think holy orders can only be hired by those of their religion. Better breed yourself a heretic of the right stripe.

I'd hate to have to create a character. It takes some of the fun away when there are still so many integrated ones to try. And now that I am compiling a list of them, character creation seems like a waste of time. Is there simply no reason to have any county or leader follow it? Just stick in somewhere in Southern Italy. They already have enough Catholic/Orthodox counties. :D

Who said anything about using ruler creator or the console? Just play an orthodox, set your chaplains to advancing cultural tech, and wait for one of them to be inspired by Valentinian writings.

Hmmmm.... Normally that'd be something I could be on board with, but with all the Islam in the area, it's kind of a miracle Alexandria didn't get completely overrun.

Valentinanism, if anywhere, by the time of LI would have spread in areas falling under the jurisdiction of the Ohrid "Orthodox" Church, meaning in the ERE. Shaytana had it Isauria, where it could be restored; having it as an emerging heresy is in my opinion an equally good approach (keep in mind the heresy mechanic did not exist during Shaytana's time so he had to give religions a province for them to exist). Having "surprise" heresies suddenly appear, whereby they were until then almost unheard of, is a nice touch towards making the religious scene alive and dynamic...

At first I thought it meant that he was a follower of Valentine, and thus a Valentinian, but I think he's saying his name is Valentine.

That was always the likely answer, even if it is disappointing. If he were a serious follower I'd have so many questions to ask.

There are some neo-gnostic followers, much like there are neo-pagan followers, and some of these neo-gnostics take the title "Valentinian". Aside from a weblog, I haven't been able to find any examples, though.
