The German Cities DLC came out today. It's a new DLC which is not included in any package deal at the moment.
The 40MB update was the free 1.0.21 patch which includes one german city: Munich with a new campaign, 5 new vehicles and 3 user made maps (and a bunch of bug fixes).
Also, you can see the DLC you already own in the DLC tab of the game properties :)

Awesome! Thanks!:)

@co_damsku

I checked that tab... It says there is no DLC available at the moment. Where can I place my free DLC-code then?

Did you do like in the previous post?

"-you need to go into the Steam client and log in
-in the menu, select Games > Activate a product on Steam...
-it will open a dialog asking you to press next a few times and then you are asked to enter a product code, type the code you were given and next again
-it will then acquire the DLC (whichever it was that was bundled with your game) for you"

Yes, I did exactly that. It asked me for the product code, but not for the DLC activation code.

What went wrong?

Have you tried to enter the DLC activation code in the product code field?
As far as I understand it, the DLC is considered as a product, so the activation code for it will unlock the DLC if you enter it in the product code :)

And sorry for the confusion, I didn't remember you also have the game serial number ;)

:( I thought they ask me first for the product code and after that for the DLC code. Omg, what I should do now?

Just repeat the same steps, but when it asks for the product code, enter the DLC activation code instead of the game code :)

Thanks a lot. That worked.

That was a confusion day. Why they even give me the normal product code? :O

I miss those times where I just buy the game in a shop and play it without anything except a PC/Laptop. Nowadays games requires Steam and internet connection.

Really sad :(

Glad we got it to work :)
They give you the normal product code so that you can register the game here to access the tech forum.

And yes, those times were easy, on the other hand, Steam is really great. It took me a while to start liking it but when you think of it, an internet connection is pretty standard nowadays, and it is required only when activating the game and downloading it (unless it is a multiplayer game, but CIM is not :)). The main advantage is all your games are available there and you can just reinstall them on any machine using your account, you get automatic updates and an easy way to acquire DLCs for the games you like.
Back in the good old days, it was seriously difficult to get a patch when a game shipped with some bugs.. :)

You need the product code to be able to access the awesome tech support for example ;) But seriously speaking I do understand your point, I'm glad it worked out though, and hopefully you'll enjoy Cities in Motion!

Thank you guys and I kinda get your point damsku. :)

I really wish you going to make more games in future. You are a great support team. Never had this in any game before where the developers work so closely with the customer.

I'm really looking forward for future products.

The thing that we can actually chat with the people who develop the game is just awesome.
And regarding Steam, i totally agree with co_damsku, first of all it's great that i can access my games anywhere and anytime if i have internet connection, no matter what computer i use. And second - i don't have to go to any stores at all, i don't have to find a place for the DVD on my shelves etc, this is really comfy. And it's also great that if there's a sale, i can browse it sitting at home (and see that i could get CiM with all DLCs for just €10...)...and really the auto-patch feature is also great (when Steam doesn't forget to release it).

Hi I bought DLC German Cities, but I dont know how to install it into my game. I bought the game on Direct2Drive shop and DLC as well, for some reason the file exe. it's compatible for MAC use, but unable to install it because it keeps saying unable to open the file, how do I install that DLC to my MAC. I have been looking online how to install I have not luck finding any info. on Google. Any help be appreciated it. Thanks guys :)

Hi Norcal Jay,

If you got an exe file, it is for the Windows version only. If you get a DLC for Mac, you should be getting it in dmg format. You need to contact your reseller and see if they are providing the wrong file on their portal.
