This includes any spiritual successors to Rome, since they're more than likely going to remove the EU connection to make it its own franchise if they were to do a sequel. Anyway, which do you think seems more likely?
Half-life 3 confirmed!
Fallout 4 con-wait a moment..
I think Rome has quite a better chance to be released first. Of the two I think Victoria needs the most work to get right, probably needs more of a change then HOI IV will be for the HOI series. Rome can take alot from both CK II and Eu IV but it will need alot of its own mechanics.
The next Rome game will be just called Rome or Rome II instead of Eu before so Eu Rome II will never happen.
I say the chance that both will be made in a resonable future is about 95%.
Eh, I guess. I mean, if I really want to play that era I just fire up Total War. I think they're only likely to make Rome if they can fully differentiate it from the Total War series. I'm sure they could, but the question is whether or not it's worthwhile pursuing that era when it's already heavily covered.

I'd rather have Vicky III, but unfortunately, Rome II is more likely. Paradox has said that they want to make some more expansions for VIcky. I'd rather see some radical changes now, and then get the new DLC style of support...
They're not really planning expansions to Vicky II are they? That game is feeling a bit dated now days. I don't think that sounds right.
But what comes first, Vicky III or Rome 2? Hmm, I can only hope that the following chant makes it so....
ROME2! ROME2! ROME2! *ad nauseam*
I think they've pretty much abandoned any pre-Clausewitz games at this stage, It's Vicky III or nothing. They said, after releasing Heart of Darkness, that they have enough ideas for at least two more expansions.
Which means they have enough ideas for a sequel... at this point, the game looks and feels like ass.
If they make VickyIII I hope they don't casualize it as much as HOI4 or EU4.
I would also prefer if they don't go with the 3D map, but I know that won't happen.
I guess it just depends on the person. Victoria 2 felt much more fun to me than EU4. Maybe it's because it felt more plausible, I don't know. And of course EU4 isn't for the casual gamer, I just feel like I'd be more suited for more EU3 game mechanics (even though my first PDS game was EU4).Victoria II felt pretty clunky too me. I don't think EU4 was casualized too much, I think it was casualized just enough - and even then, it is certainly far from a casual game or well suited for a casual gamer.
Victoria III. There have been Devs talking about her gloriousness, albeit not much, but much more than Rome II.
We've been told by Devs, such as Podcat, that they were interested in making Victoria III. Rome II has no such champion as it is now.
Not that I'm against a Rome II though.
