Playing as Spain and allied with Austria and Bavaria. Wurtemburg goes Protestant so I declare war. I send in an army from Milan but before I get there Wurtemburg is already besieged by my allies.

Eventually the fortress falls but only Austria and Bavaria get the credit for it. Do I have to be there at the start of the siege to get a claim on the province ?

As leader of the alliance I offered peace to Wurtemburg after their capital had fallen but did not have the option of demanding tribute. I figured that as my side had kicked their arses I should at least have the option of annexing, if not myself, then Austria.

While I'm on the subject, after a succesful siege by multiple nations who controls the province ?

Either the first army to begin the successful siege, or the army with the highest ranking commander in the siege. In the time period your speaking of (prolly around 1530ish?)Austria's king Ferdinand and General von Frundsburg (sp?) are leading armies.

Oh dear, that's probably what happened. And yet another thing to cram into my already over-loaded brain :)

Thanks.
